Takahama shiitake farm
    #2499026 - 04/01/04 09:29 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Was lucky enough to get a tour of the facility (only got 2 photos, though, cause my wife took the kids for a leak and took the camera with her :frown: )

For those who have ever wondered what a Japanese mushroom farmer looks like...

Handsome mushroom farmer - but what is that ugly white stuff in the bags?

I wounder how I can make an automated bag filler? That will save me lots of time. Do they fruit them through wholes in the bag or is that the incubation stage?

the sawdust block fruitings i've seen are always sans plastic. the block is removed from the plastic and soaked underwater for 24 hours and then placed in the fruiting room on wire rack shelves, as opposed to solid shelving which guarantees trich and other meanies.

Pretty much as above... I don't know if they dunked them or not, but I saw one of the the fruiting sheds and they had the mature blocks naked ( ) on wire shelves.

Here's another pic of the fruiting chamber and the block I bought (already picked a few too!)

Even though its the wrong forum, i was just wondering if you could use that same saw dust block method to grow cubes. Is there a tek like that or a link to explain it further?

Wrong substrate for cubes...

There are other actives which grow on wood in the wild which would enjoy that kind of substrate, but not cubensis.

B+ is a strain that for some reason likes saw dust. Add lots of bran to it I suppose.
