Sounds to me like your tek is a little off. Try telling us exactly what you are doing so we can help better.

basically it is just the "fast food of the gods" method with a jar of perlite in at the start so i dont have to worry about hand spraying every day when they start to grow. i was just wondering if it is better to be humid from the very start or should i leave the perlite dry until pinning begins

This sounds like a recipe for contamination to me. If you ever open the lid before the whole thing is colonized, I can see a big mess happening. How do you intend to innoculate? Are you going to poke holes in the side of the tupperware? Or are you going to poke holes in the top and just rain down spore solution? If by some miracle, you don't end up with a multicolored waste of time, write a full report and post it.

im going to sterilize the jar with perlite and the vercimulite. then pressure cook the rice in a few jars. then put it all in the container and nuke it in the microwave i will have a small hole in the side of the box which i will spray in about 30cc of honey water mycelium solution. i wont open the box until fully colonised. but i wondered if the jar of perlite should have water from the start i.e. is it better for it to be humid while initially growing or should i wait until fully colonised until i put water in the perlite jar??

Why not just follow the PF or MMGG teks? From what I hear, they are relatively simple and headache-free.

Not sure about your method. Smells like a disaster.
