To group ceremony or solo healing

Curious on people's opinions please. In respect to deep trauma and childhood disturbance, I'm torn between finding a retreat and going solo in the comfort of my own home. I can't begin to compare my experiences with any other persons I don't feel it's fair to judge, I can't see how anyone can compare who has had it worse or better then another but I do know for myself personally I am quite intimidated by the damage inside me and being in a group setting. To elaborate on myself I am enjoying the struggle of ptsd, ocd, severe panic issues, night terrors beyond the ptsd and obviously there's anger issues and a whole bunch of other emotions that make day to day such a colourful experience for my loved ones and myself. I'm mid 30s and thru every doctor and specialist nothing has helped me more then psycoactive plants. I'm only at the beginning of my journey but do need some direction please. Any advice means more to me then the time given to type and I am very grateful for anything positive or negative.

hey man I would start with a 5 day fast on distilled water and unclog your shit system, anytime you get hungry just make a fruit smoothie with some frozen organic fruits and some pure water.

Thank you for the time to reply, I have recently taken myself off all medications. Against doctors orders but I'm alot better for it. The toxic mix was targin, clomipramine, pristiq, deralin, sifrol, one I did keep is a beta blocker named propranol, it's something I cannot gwithout, it stops the fight/flight reaction in the brain and controls my heart which in turn helps me manage the anxiety. I've grown bitter to things like SSRIs and the likes. I'm in the process of cutting all refined products and sugars etc it's quite the task I'll be honest. Loving myself is something I'm yet to grasp it seems unrealistic in my current state. It's very easy to focus on my daughter and partner and love them unconditionally, it's like a tunnel vision but does me no good for myself. My dreams torment me and I know there's work to be done it's just difficult to begin. In my short 'therapy' sessions I've been in with myself and my partner as an over watch I have felt a love for everything I did not know existed, there is a calming 'it will all be ok' sense to it yet it I look at myself or my reflection it turns bad and I shift my focus intentionally. These feelings are short lived and I'm yet to bring an emotion or attitude back with me to stay. Finding a guide is quite difficult and I'm not sure it's the right path to take.

If I was to look inside and accept who I am I would have to accept the anger, guilt, rage, sadness, the worthlessness. I know there's positive inside it's just suppressed hence the drive behind my solo sessions

If you do decide to use psychedelics as a means of therapy, please try to seek out an actual professional who would be willing to help you guide you through your trip and provide proper therapy for you. Do not just go to any quack or person who claims to be a 'shaman' of any kind.
Look into MAPS. So far they're the number one research society into the study of psychedelics as therapy tools: http://www.maps.org
If you try contacting them, they may be able to assist you in finding a professional who is willing to help you in this way.

Finding the right guide is as easy as 1 2 3. On top of that you just need to focus on yourself for a change, whats happening is if you are sick no matter how hard you try to help others, you will never TRULY help them, they have to help themselves, and you can be a guide too, but if you want to be a guide your going to have to find and love yourself first.

I've done all my trips alone at home, but not everyone wants to do it that way. Best wishes, though!

The more I think about it, the more I think that a group session would steer my trip down a more unproductive path. Not necessarily a negative or "bad trip" experience, but my introspection has always been heightened when I am alone.

Most shamans are glorified trip sitters. They are unlikely to help you in any meaningful way, especially when there are a bunch of other people tripping with you. You'll generally be better off tripping alone in the safety of your own home.
There are, however, professional psychologists who have experience in this area. They tripsit you, and then talk to you after the trip to help you sort shit out. The trip brings shit to the surface and then they help you work through it, while it's fresh.
