I think it´s the expanding ice that cracks the glass by pushing it apart,
I don´t think it has anything to do with air pressure.

If I understood you corect..

As ice expands it displaces gases around it. If the gas has nowhere to go
it builds pressure.if you have issues with cracking jars from freezing them
then try leaving a place for the gas to go. If there is head room the ice expands
upward not outward but if the jar is air tight it will create gas pressure.

May not be necessary like bod said but its definitely worth a shot and something
i do anyway if i freeze anything in a closed container.

Am I wrong for being miffed at someone if I order from their shop before they decide to temporarily shut down. And we are having a conversation on facbook shooting the shit and I ask him when I will get my cordyceps and that I just noticed it says 1-2 weeks and if I had to wait that long could I just cancel the plates and get the cordyceps and he says no it's ready to ship. I'll put the stuff on plates and if it's not anchored by Monday and I'll send it out Thursday after he already said stuff was pretty much ready to ship. So I was like fine yeah Thursday I get it. He then said he had a fall and wouldn't be around till today and I was like ok. I asked him how he was feeling and if it was going to be a long time could I just cancel the order for now and get it somewhere else because I don't have money to order anywhere else. He was all like well I'm in the middle of a move and I fell down the stairs and I'm trying to get stuff out as fast as I can and we usually get stuff ready to ship in a few weeks. And well  my whole point is why didn't he just say all that in the beginning of the conversation last Friday and tell me he would be busy moving instead of misleading me and taking more money for more plates which I decided to order after he told me he could get it all ready for me so now I have no money to get cordyceps anywhere else so I politely asked if it was going to take a long time if he could just cancel the order and let me order somewhere else. I sunk like 80 bucks into the order in cultures and the cordyceps and I'm not a rich person by any means and literally have no money to order anywhere else and cordyceps in my inflammation medicine and has been working for me and as time has gone on I just feel really shitty and cranky and sore again. Am I wrong for being a bit miffed in this situation?

You are dealing with a junkie.
The situation is lame

You being miffed is reasonable but honestly getting miffed over this is not worth your thoughts and energy.

I'm almost certain I'll have to leave the caps on my growlers loose when I freeze my tea. How long could acidified tea keep in the fridge before spoiling, unsweetend as well as sweetend?

I'm not too worried about alkaloid degradation since I'll be using dark glass. If I really felt inclined to do so I could get bottles instead and use o2 absorbing caps.

This is more out of curiousity than anything, I highly doubt any tea I make will sit around long lol

TBC, you have every right to be pissed. I would've flown off the handle already, I don't do well with people screwing around with me like that.

That’s shitty, tbc.  I was gonna order up a culture from that shop but that sounds pretty weak sauce.  I just plated that K1 I got from eBay on Monday... the vendor told me it was a year old but fruitts...we’ll see how it does. Shoot me you addy and I’ll get a plate out to you tomorrow.

Problem with growlers is the shape. The neck freezes and makes a plug then the water under it can pop the glass as it freezes even with a loose cap in narrow neck bottles.

Mason jars are made to be frozen with liquids in them but you have to leave appropriate space.

He said I can offer you a refund if you want and I was like sure yeah that sounds cool. And only because I can't afford to get it anywhere else now. Then he sent me a message getting all pissed off at me about saying yes to the refund. He's like I made the dishes and I was going to go home and get them ready. And I used my money and resources to make them. And I can't just stivk them on a plate and send them off because they don't just root and it would flop all over the dish. But I ordered them on Friday and he said Thursday that totally made sense. ANd all I did was ask him when the plates would be here and if it was going to take much longer could I have a refund. And now I just feel shitty. He's like it says two weeks I'm not late. But he could have just told me in the beginning he couldn't fulfill my order in the time frame I needed it. :frown: Why would you suggest a refund and then send me an angry voice message. I wasn't being mean at all. I really wasn't. He didn't have to say he was able to get that stuff out. Like honestly if I had all the information I would have decided to make a better choices.

TBC,

You're definitely being hosed. I'm unfamiliar with cordyceps cultivation, but are their cultures like other medicinal/gourmet, where it's worth buying an expensive producer? If not, I'm sure a member will hook you up, either for free or on a trade. I know I would if I had a culture.

Edit: Regardless if he says "it may take 2 weeks to ship" or not, unless it says no refunds, he has no reason to treat you that way. And how many resources does it take to make a plate for someone? Lol, he should already have them ready to go. He has terrible customer service and I'd rather spend my money on better vendors myself.

Get that refund and don't even bother getting into it with him.

This is why I avoid etsy and ebay. Even small businesses cant handle their shit a lot of times. Let alone some people just trying to do side hustle.

This guy sounds like a junkie for real.

If I put a fruit tissue into carbonated water, and cut off O2, it stores for over 4 months in a fridge.

Isn't that standard? I thought water/no nutrient longterm storage was commonplace in commercial growing. Or are you just experimented with carbonated water for some reason?

Oh no I didn't order a cordyceps culture from him. I ordered an extract. I got my own cultures. And I said tom him in a FB convo I ordered some plates too but I didn't realize your site said 1-2 weeks made to order. And he said no he can get them out everything is pretty much ready to ship. And I was like cool. I'd like to order three more cultures with it then. No mention of moving or anything else or being busy. And I was like sweet. And you know I make plates all the time and I figured if his cuyltures are as good as he says they are they should only take 3-4 days tops to anchor. I just feel nowhere in this conversation did I pressure him to send me anything in any length of time. And I also said the reason I was asking was because I was disabled and needed the cordyceps extract cause I was out and that I have EDS.

That's what I'm talking about. Good shit, Myco.

Okay, an extract. I get it. Yeah, he's 100% full of shit. "I had to move" isn't something that suddenly happens to anybody legit. And falling and hurting yourself is an obvious bullshit excuse. Definitely get your money back, apologize for the inconvenience, and never order from him again. And leave a bad review.

Maybe I should start making and shipping my own cultures. get myself a few mini fridges. I could do it. Mine are doing great and someday soon I will be really good at it.

Thank you Mycolorado. I'll be good. I don't need the plates. Just was kinda hoping for the extract which is my medicine.

I think I'm just cranky too. It was cold outside and I had to walk 3 miles today and it seems my body temperature isn't readjusting and the cold really hurts a lot.

I guess I got my prefilters today so I can kind of be happy about that. And who knows he might decide to get wise and really ship them tonight. We'll see.

I wanted to get some grain done but I think I kinda just tapped out for the day with being out in the cold so long. Tomorrow.

I was testing CaCO3 and water for long term tissue storage, rather than just plain water.
My point is more about a zero O2 environment, which freezing also produces.

Here is a fruit body decaying in an oxygen rich environment.
