Need ID Help!! Possibly P.Cyanscens?

Hey guys! I am new to this forum, so hello all!! Recently came across a patch of mushrooms with a friend (growing in wodchips, underneath a bush) and we picked them to try and identify them. We've done some research and believe they might possibly be P. cyanscens, but are not 100% sure. Maybe some more experienced foragers can help? Thanks in advance

No problems. Learn to do spore prints and read more about what you're looking for. The research will pay off in the end.
Welcome to the shroomery!

Welcome to the shroomery. Weβre so lucky to have the shroomery. I started out as a teenager in Seattle with an Audoban field guide to mushrooms in the late 80s. Pretty spoiled to be able to just go on our phone and ask the collective conscious any question!... and get an ID from an expert in minutes.

In the field guides they call this Hebeloma crustuliniforme, but if you sequence the DNA you'll find that it is actually closer to Hebeloma velutipes.

That is a name from Europe, and it is misapplied in California. I have been lead to believe that Hebeloma velutipes is the best name for the most common species which looks like this in California, but I have not seen any sequences.
