Highly unlikely for that to work , u can put some spores to agar tho then put that to grain then make some sawdust spawnbag blocks n bury them in the spring n they mite fruit by the following fall

yo man outdoor growing can be fun, but i think you would have more fun growing truffles inside their are a lot of perks to them and you can get tons of reuses from the organic rye berries.

Ive had success with woodlovers. Definitely harder to grow than cubes, but not impossible.

Heres what I accomplished just this year:

I would say its a partial success I had small fruits, and just a couple. But I did get fruits.

I went spores straight to wood, which is tough. The wood i use a mixed chip, mostly pine I believe. Came from a local plant nursery.

Next year, Im using a top layer of coir to keep it from drying out.

I started a wavy cap patch ten years ago by inoculating grains with mycelium, then transferring to a mix of sterilized alder/douglas fir sawdust in a shit ton of spawn bags.  These were colonized over the winter, and then used to inoculate several truckloads of alder sawdust and chips the following spring.  They fruited that year during the rainy season after the first spell of freezing temperatures.

Patches will migrate over time.  Mine is now nearly a half mile from the original location, which stopped fruiting a few years ago.

Unless you're close to the coast, they won't fruit every year.  Mine often just start to pin, then get covered by a foot of snow.

I got some good compost from a horse race track a year back. There' s still  a small pile left. Can I just  squirt some water spores on it and let it grow naturally?  the summers here, are really humid after the rain.

Success is low that way, but there is a slim chance it will grow mycelium. Best to spawn to first grains thou.
