Thank you for typing all that shit out.
I just ordered agar.
Apologize for my unneccessary ignorance.
Got it.
10-4

Anyway, to clear things up. The mycelium was in a pf tek jar where I started the spores. I know not to start spores in grain, etc.I poked it with a diabetes needle and yeah - got lucky.

It's all good bro, I lurked on here for awhile before I made an account and I've been a member for almost 2 years, cultivating for about 8 or 9 months and I still mix up terminology and get confused from time to time.

@tealseal, you should've kept shaking. I shook my first li for like 15 minutes before it all broke up. Even if it doesn't look broke up there is still microscopic mycelium filaments dispersed throughout the water. Try using softer agar next time.

hey guys have u ever seen this before? the myc wouldn't break up it just swirled around my li like this. i used munch's tek before with success so i did it again.

the plate appeared clean and smelled like mushrooms when i dumped it in the toilet.

Looks like you made your agar too stiff, try letting it soak for a bit, might break up easier.

Why’d you pour it in the toilet?

cause i read Li is a one time shot deal, i knocked up 5 jars and dumped the rest.....

i agree the agar was too stiff, i did let it soak and that softened it up allowing me to break it up even further,
but why is the myc all stringy like that? cause of the stiff agar?

How did the plate look before you used it? It could just be very strong rhizomorphs

It was probably some really strong rhizo that didn't want to break apart.

I have heard of and seen pictures of really rope mycelium that is formed from extreme bacterial contams as a last effort to escape, but you probably would've noticed if that was the case.

The first few times i make li the puck never broke up.i damn near ahook my arm off. It all works the same really. Yes it helps to have tiny chunks of agar in there but ive found it does not matter. All the ones i did with solid pucks worked fine. Tossed the puck when i was done. There is plenty more myc in that water than the eye can see.

Squirted some ovoid, azure, and cyan spores on cakes.  The cyans and azures are banging but nothing from the ovoids yet. I tried whole rice in some of the ovoid cakes to compare to brf.
