Correct, you'll need to start each solution with freshly sterilzed water. Add a water to jar, cap jar with lid (I prefer to use grain jar lids for this purpose), cover lids with foil (optional depending on filter material used), sterilze for 20-30 minutes at 15 psi, or above.
Syringes usually come pre-sterilized by gamma-ray, but if recycling used syringes linked below is the method I use to safely sanitize them. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12098357#12098357

I can attest to this tek. It's very simple. I ran it side by side with Frank's WBS tek and the results were just as good for about 1/100th of the work. This is my go to now.

Yeah I remembered I forgot the gypsum after I got the PC rocken when I did some a couple weeks ago. All was well with the white millet not clumping. Maybe more of a issue with rye berries.

Used this tek for my first attempt at grains and just want to tip my hat to you ham! This was simple and my jars turn out perfect!
Inoculated them with a MSS and after 3.5 days, they are already germinating and showing positive growth.
Thanks again for the great tek ham!!!

I've been using a meat thermometer and it definitely is not giving accurate readings. I had the same issue with the temp not reading above 180 but the water was reaching a full boil. Now I am just kind of winging it, not letting the water get too hot based on visual judgment. I think I'll try a candy thermometer

Tried the candy thermometer and it worked very well. The meat thermometer has always been kind of dodgy so I'm not sure if mine is broken or they just aren't very good quality in general. But the candy thermometer did the trick.
I definitely had the water getting way hotter than should have, although it still worked out ok for me... just produced a little stick in my seed.
But monitoring the temp accurately and not letting it get above 200 was perfect. Even in my cheap economy WBS full of cracked corn, no stick or mush at all

My first ever grain jars knocked up with my first ever agar.

I’m a newb at this and was wondering how they look. Not sure if they are to dry or if they will be okay. These were knocked up on the 19th. I did two with a CRS clone T1, and one with a MS Cambo T1 agar wedge.

Those jars look really great! The WBS looks perfect. I think you're going to be happy.

don't look dry to me at all. you see how the grain is sticking to the glass up top? dry grain doesn't do that.
