Used this tek with my WBS jars. Inoculated with 10cc LC on the 23rd. This morning most jars are 95%-100% colonized.

Gonna try this but want to place the finished uncolonized wbs into agar with myc growth 4th transfer. Should work right? I have maybe 11 agar pastyplates. I didn't have enough jars to pc, and have maybe a quart left of wbs and didn't throw the remaining plates cause they looked clean.

I wanted to know if I can run the tek but after pc'ing and cool down of the jars, I want transfer them to pastyplates pretty much, but idk if that would work, I did see it on another thread some guy basically did a grain to agar.
If not, I actually was able to fill 6 quart jars of a little less than half the jar with 2 quarts of wbs with this tek. I am At The process of pcing. Thinking if I should just do a2g if anything.

Just turned the pc off. Took a shower and brushed meh toofs and gargled the mouthwash and now to wait for it to cool down. I Guess I'll go and choose which plates to transfer.
So far I have about 15 quart jars after this 6 is 21. Gonna have a good 420, I've been good with my a2g times but this is a new grow since I started with prints of pe6 I took maybe 6 months ago of pe6.
Those 15 jars I soaked for about 24 no simmer. So it would be cool to see how well they colonize these 6 jars that about to a2g, all from same monotub but three different prints transferred 4 times

Here are some of the plates which I already threw away since I opened in open air, the other one with transfers taken are actually from a pin from 1st plates made in the end of dec, it was the 3rd transfers of those plates while making Cambodian variety pastyplates with a sryinge I haven't used yet so hopefully its clean. HERE I GO!

Hamloaf-
Have you noticed any advantage with WBS compared to rye berries in a mini or shoebox with cubes?

I just inoculated a bunch of stuff with agar wedges, it´s tedious and colonization takes time, but I like the feeling of security after inoculating a bunch of qt jars with a2g

I tried putting the grain in about half way to when it would boil then left it for 30 so 10-15 boil and 30 hot soak. Fucked my shit up bad.
Boiling wbs is not something i wanna do ever again haha.

I do not, nor have several others who have tried this method (check posts in thread). That's a lot of burst millet. Too much, imo, for comfort.
What happened? Did you let water come to a full boil, and/or leave seed in for too long? Remember, keep water temperature at 200F for only 5 minutes, and remove seed from water as soon as 5 minutes is up. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure that water temperature does not exceed 200F.

Do not add room temperature seed to boiling water. The temperature differentiate causes seed to expand too fast usually resulting in bursting. Furthermore, don't boil WBS especially not for 10-15 minutes. No wonder your seed got messed up. Simmer WBS instead of boiling it.

It's an uncomfortable amount for me as well. I don't know man, I monitored the water temp with a meat thermometer and my Infrared thermometer and neither ever reached 180. But I have done enough WBS to know that it had been on to long so I strained it and found that. I don't I'm know, maybe I'm on crack this morning but I think I'll toss all that seed and start a new.

I'd toss that and begin again. Next time be sure to not let seed simmer for more than five minutes. Those laser temperature probes only read surface temperature.

Yeah, I'm sure. I don't know what to say but both my meat thermometer and my Infrared where saying the same thing. Never passed 180.

Do you stick the thermometer down into the grains or just in the water above them?

Its been discovered that temperature isn't problem. More important point of focus is not simmering seed longer than five minutes.

I stick thermometer as deep into water as I can get it without burning myself. I don't think you're on crack, but try again and be sure not to simmer seed for longer than 5 minutes.
