If the WBS brand being used has a lot of sunflower seeds in it consider removing some.  Penningtons brand is featured in this Tek.

WBS prepped via this Tek fully colonized 6 quarts of sterlized rye berries, and working on a 6 quart bag of sterilzed whole oats.

God damn my friend, I've been doing my WBS wrong all along.  Will try this method.  Did you use an additional substrate for when you made your tubs?  And were jars inoculated with random spores or did you add something from a master jar?  Agar?  It's been almost 10 years since my last grow but am just now getting back into it.  I want yields like this!

pennington ftw! agree, stare use another brand with less sunflower. i never remove the sunflower. just pour off any floating debris when im pouring the seed into the strainer.

How much agar do you like to use just little slices or the hole puck?

Mine's cooling now. Gonna noc it up with some tasty PE6 LI in the morning. I have jars done with Frank's WBS that I will have for side by side comparison. Will post back in a week.

And Penningtons Classic FTW! Water was clear on the first pour.

So I used this tek with a B+ LC, my WBS already has lots of aggressive mycelium growth after just 24 hours. I love how quick I can prep my spawn now.
