Are you possibly over misting or maybe it’s bruising? Does look like possible bacteria, should still fruit though.

Theres definitely bacteria. The misting was 2x a day before put to sgfc. Now 5x a day in sgfc

These tubs are reaching a month old. I'm fairly certain its a combination of time and learning proper fae
That beinf said (while drunk) the blue appears to have lessened

I'm learning that too much moisture/misting can be a killer on subs. I have those same tubs that those bricks you have came from.I ruined the surface by over misting, but left them in the tub to fruit. Once I realized I was overmisting/too much sub moisture,I stopped misting and just let them regulate themselves.ended up with some decent side fruits.
Try not to overmist. You say 5x a day?I mist my tubs/boxes MAYBE once or twice a day. That said I'm not very well versed in the sgfc either.Never, liked them much.

The entire point of an sgfc is a shit load of fae/evaporation while maintaining a high enough RH I give the cakes a light or heavy misting depending on when I'll be back around to mist them later. Fortunately my gf tries to help when im gone. Its hard to over mist an sgfc, unless youre absolutely dousing the thing every 2hrs
With my standard FC i mist about 3 times a day or less misting more often. Just trying to maintain that balance of evaporation.

Hey all, I tried to spawn a brf cake to coir and didn't go so well. I waited till cake was 100% colonized plus 2 days. Then I started to grate it up and it turns out that the inside was completely brf, no colonization at all. What the heck did I do wrong? Any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated

The inside of a brf cake won't look like the outside. Itll look like brf but with white all up in its nooks n crannies.
If it fell apart it was uncolonized. Which is weird. And possibly due to sterilization.

Mine were like that too when I spawned to bulk. I just used the Bucket TEK for the coir and spawned them anyway. They colonized just fine with no contams. Just keep the lids on till fully colonized. I was tripping at first but it turned out alright.

They didn't fall apart, kinda was like pushing playdoe through a playdoe machine lol I did spawn it anyway hopeful I was just tripping but admittedly my sterile technique was kinda lacking at that point because of despairity lol I'm hopeful I,didn't Crap it up too bad but good to hear there is still hope! Thanks again for the heads up, you all rock!

I've had that happen before a couple times. It may have been from me putting too much spore solution during inoculation. The outside colonized faster.Another way I check to see if my cakes are "done" is by looking to see if they have started to shrink in the jar.

Nice.
I could be wrong but I thought I read sometimes if the mushrooms are growing toward the sides like that it could be a sign of a dry top layer/casing
Does it seem dry to you? Maybe I'm wrong

Intereting. I make sure to keep it somewhat damp all the time. I might have let it dry out for a while until someone told me it looked dry. Keeping up on misting now.

I've had it happen when the sub was too wet and the sides were dryer Could be from the design of the shoebox letting in extra FAE around the edges.

So I guess it sounds like too wet or too dry it might find the best goldilocks climate which in both cases may be near the sides?

PE on BRF cakes, spawned to coir.
So I harvested my first PE fruits tonight. Got me all excited,so I've got to show them off.
I just harvested a few that were ready off of the 27qt mini.About 6 fruits were almost 149gm wet.
Also have this PE shoebox doing good.I've got it dubbed, trying to see how big they'll get.
These are just the first 2 tubs of my PE run.Pretty happy so far.
