I recently picked up Rising Storm 2 and Rainbow 6 Siege as well as Killing Floor 2. so far I like R6S the best. Rising Storm 2 is the bomb but it's really challenging...salt and rage. haha

Will check out Rainbow 6 Siege and both Killing Floors. Watch the clips and read the reviews. They both seem interesting to me.

I recently got into Cold Waters and Dangerous Waters. Submarine warfare, Cold Waters is the one from last year, Dangerous Waters is a decade old, but is widely considered to be the best sub sim.
They are really hard. True cat and mouse games. It's like playing Dishonored for Ghost, because if you get spotted then they launch a bunch of torpedo planes and you're boned. And then the half hour of patient preparation for that perfect shot turns into 20 seconds of hell in a handbasket while you desperately (and likely futile-ly, because now you're making noise) dive and surface to dodge the net of torpedoes heading your way.
They are surprisingly stressful games.

I’ve never played a sub game that I can recall. Maybe when I was 10 or so when I woke up during a sleepover and went downstairs but I can’t remember if it was a sub game or just a game with a sub section. Either way I downloaded Steel Diver and am going to try it out. Hopefully it’s somewhat realistic and not all cartoony considering it’s nintendo.

My roommate and I were just talking about that game last night. From what I understood, it's pretty much Mario, but you're a submarine.
These are not. Cold Waters and Dangerous Waters really hammer home the fact that a submarine is a slow behemoth with little to no defenses and no ability to tank damage. If they find you, you will die. A submariner's only hope is stealth and praying your torpedo is already there before they have a chance to fire one off.
Thought, that being said, I was playing one of the scenario single missions in Cold Waters last night, where you're supposed to hunt down a Soviet Typhoon class ballistic sub, escorted by a Charlie class cruise sub and a Sierra class nuclear attack sub. I was in a Sturgeon class. Managed to spot and sink the Charlie and the Sierra, and then somehow the Typhoon managed to get like 200m away without either of us picking each other up on sonar (probably because both on passive to avoid giving away position via ping). The Typhoon had the upper hand, because I was reloading all four tubes, and it launched a spread of three torpedoes. I somehow managed to duck two of them and eat the third entirely with my rudder so as to not damage the pressure hull and implode, but I got the other two torpedoes that I evaded to lock on to the Typhoon since it was so close. Then added two of my own for good measure. That felt pretty awesome.
Note: Using NATO reporting names. Typhoon=akula, Charlie=skat, Sierra=barracuda

Well steel diver is pretty much like a basic sub/plane/car etc. left/right, up/down, fast/slow etc. I’m sure I’ll kill some time with it but it’s not that indepth so you were right, mario..
I really need to pick up a ps4 so I can get into some of the more realistic types of games. T’was a sad sad day when my ps2 took a dump..

Some games I have really enjoyed the last few years.
Ark: survival evolved. The official servers can be pretty troll like most survival games with a pvp element. The actual game itself is still cool and fun. I ran my own server for about a year that my best friend and I played on, and other people came in over time.
Subnautica: Game just released but I've been playing it off and on for years. Bought it early access and its amazing. Not multiplayer and not a run and gun kind of game. This is all about exploration of a cool alien world and surviving then escaping. They did a really good job with the world building and how they did it where you don't just get guns and power ups to shoot everything. You pretty much get non-lethal means to defend yourself except a survival knife (lol! it wont help you with the aliens!) or ramming your various subs into them. haha.
Rimworld: Colony sim with some brutal options in it. Art style is the same as prison architect but they are not the same kind of game. Rimworld is meant to be a story told through play vs just a sim. Your pawns will start with all sorts of random traits and skills, including negative ones. They can go crazy if you don't give them enough shit to keep them happy, start fights with each other, murder each other, go into a stupor and get themselves killed. All sorts of shit. You get raided by other factions on the map, can capture them, recruit them for more pawns, opr just harvest their organs and make their skins into leather to make coats out of it. hahah Think 'space dwarf fortress with better graphics and some brutal possibilities when you think about it" Amazing game. I come back to this time and time again when I need a video game change. The learning curve can be kinda steep at first because its a pretty in depth game. Lots of work benches and skill types, lots of mental breaks and physical disasters, lots of things to learn and multiple ways to "play" the game.

Rimworld is a great game. It's like super-simplified space dwarf fortress. Also, a bit of a cartel simulator, since drugs are the most valuable trade goods that can be reliably acquired. Get your neighbors hooked. Prison Architect (and Academia) are also pretty fun, but a long more...formulaic?
Prison Architect is a goofy romp through various failures, until you get it right. Then it becomes a terrifying social commentary, as you ruthlessly convert inmates to cash. Really takes on a whole new meaning when you start being able to reliably house and execute death row prisoners. You are literally trading lives for money at that point.

Yeah I really love rimworld. I come back to it time and time again which is a rarity for me in a game. normally when I game I crack out hard on something until I run out of shit to do, then it loses its luster and I rarely ever reinstall it. Rimworld (and dwarf fortress though not as much lately) are just amazing and great games. I really enjoy trying hard challenges with it like the sea ice challenge with a rich explorer, maxed out cold temps, perm cold snap and nuclear winter. Whole new meaning to the game when you have no resources on the map, a single pawn, and the only thing that lets you go outside for more then a few seconds in a super parka out of camelhair or muffalo wool.

In The Hunt is the shit for submarine games. Made by Irem by a lot of the same guys who later formed Nazca and made Metal Slug. Definitely doesn't try to get deep with the submarine mechanics but it's fun.

Doom 2 is on earth though, and project TNT and Plutonia is on the moons of Jupiter. New dooms are on Phobos again, I believe.

Divinity Original Sin 2, a great new RPG. It's up there with Baldur's gate I & II, Planescape: Torment, etc.
Sure it could use small tweaks to inventory and stuff, but as it's moddable theres already loads of stuff you can change.
Are we allowed to link torrents here?

I have found myself in a very unique place. I opened up a 3ds. While one of my options is downloading all the games you want, it seems I am not interested in that. I want to do things that the 3ds isn’t packaged up to do and I know it’s hella capable.
It would seem....dun dun dun... that the 3ds itself has now become ‘the game’.
besides freeshop be crashing since the update yesterday or whenever it was. Yo I want to change the radio station on elon musk’s car in space using my 3ds bro. It can be done!!

Edit: And now a fourth world record with the Americans.
