I'm looking for a knowledgeable cultivator 2 fill me in on some details cuz lately I've been doing a lot of WBS a whole grains popcorn I haven't tried rye berries yet I've ordered Library bags and stuff like that they seem to do all right but I'm looking for a knowledgeable person who tried all different substrates. Pretty much anything I can throw into a jar. So is there anyone out there that would care chatting through private messages and giving me a little bit more knowledge because right now it's just trial and error and I want to gather opinions

Popcorn is bad for spawn, good for movie nights. WBS work great for me an countless others. Do you have any concerns?

You are referring to grain spawn, which is different from bulk substrates. Coir, poo, verm is considered bulk susbtrate. WBS, oat, rye is grain used for spawn production. You want to find the cheapest grain spawn? I+d say oat and WBS are easy to find a good price on. Actually all of the grain types are cheap if you can find them cheap. And I don´t think no grower ig gonna claim that one works better that the other. People say that WBS gets a slightly faster colonization than other homogenous grain.
I have only had experience with WBS as far as grain spawn goes, but as I said it doesnt seem to be a distinct difference in performance.
Also I´ve been hearing that oat smells nasty when you prepare it and PC. It´s all about personal preference when it comes to grain. Everything works.

In my experience Rye is a better grain overall than WBS. Not that it makes a huge difference in terms of yield or potency but i find it easier to work with, cleaner and more visually appealing than WBS. Popcorn is meh. Never liked it.

WBS is relatively cheap only thing I don't like about it is so damn messy I've tried a couple of different WBS types I've tried popcorn whole grain oats I've also tried brown rice and vermiculite those are the ones that I made I have ordered rye berries but what I'm trying to figure out if rye berries are better because they are more expensive but less messages deal with. With all my texts that I've been doing I've tried and mixtures and concoctions of everything even white Miller and then mixing all different types of this and that and all seems to be working out pretty good except for organic Pearl something's oats

Are you from Canada? Rye berries I'm having a hard time finding this time of year especially in the quantities that I want. Everytime I look for rye berries online it's always American based company and I'm sick and tired of paying shipping fees and money exchange rates import fees . So if you know a good place in Canada that carries rye berries and massive quantities please feel free to let me know where to go .like right now I think I have over a hundred and twenty pounds of wbs going. That's not including my brown rice and vermiculite or my white millet or my popcorn. And is white popcorn better than orange popcorn?
