Can't get 90% humidity in FC.

Hey everyone. So I have a proper SGFC set-up. I put about 5 inches of wet perlite in, just enough so it's about the depth of my hand as I saw in the lets grow mushrooms video. My gage still says only 74-75% humidity. I also have a cool mist humidifier that goes on a quick cycle so I can try to get my humidity up but still nothing. Temp is good, 72-74. The cake was dunked and rolled and was just put into the FC yesterday.
What should I do? More perlite?
Thanks!

You can add more perlite or block off some fae holes with micropore tape

blocking holes lowers humidity. the humidity is formed from air movement through the fruiting chamber.

good. it's working properly. the humidity should be 90-99% less than an inch from the surface of the cakes.
throw out the stupid gauge, chances are the reading is wrong. and also it's like trying to drive a car but you're paying attention to the radio. pay attention to the cakes. the humidity should be 50-80% and fluctuate inside of the SGFC
also the SGFC is supposed to be full of cakes, like packed full. works better than just a couple cakes in there.

Ok cool thanks, so is it necessary to add more perlite? Or just leave everything the way it is? And is it necessary to keep the humidifier running?

running a humidifier in your home to keep your house humidity above 20-30% is always a good idea. but run it in the opposite corner. you don't need to do anything it sounds like your SGFC is working perfect.

Sounds good I'll take your word, last thing about the humidifier I currently have set-up in my grow room so would it be better to keep it running outside the room?

it can really be anywhere as long as it isn't next to the FC
