Monotub Flush... Is the first flush still going or starting the 2nd?

Hey Shroomery! Been a while since I posted. I am currently in my first monotub grow, and after a pretty rocky start it seems to be going quite well! I have grown cakes a couple years ago and the flushes were pretty easy to determine. On this monotub, it started with a few pins and over the course of a couple weeks i keep getting more and more. The first 20 shrooms have reached maturity or are very close (I've harvested the ones that are done) but it seems like I'm still getting new pins. How long until the first pinset is in for the first flush? Or do some tubs not have definite flushes and just continually grow? Thanks, much love.

A “flush” is just what mushroom cultivators have dubbed the set of mushrooms fruiting and reaching maturity at generally the same time, the mushrooms themselves have no way of distinguishing that one is from the first flush and one is from the second.
A pinset is just that, a set of pins. Once those have reached maturity and have been harvested, one could call that a flush. That being said, sometimes they do not fruit in definitive waves, and pop up as they see fit. When you see a few days between harvest and the formation of new pins, that could be the start of the next flush.

I imagine it wouldn't matter if you keep your sub hydrated. I know I've seen folks pour some water down the sides until the sub runs out of nutrients. That may be the best course of action if you have continual pinning and don't want to risk damaging pins with a full substrate dunk.

Yeah it's MS. I just know some people dunk their tubs after the first flush, but I don't see how I can do that when the pins are coming up at such different times. Guess I'll just wait and see! I'm just happy to be getting shrooms! Thought this tub was toast a couple weeks ago but it's a fighter.

I was literally just looking for this info. If bottom watering is ok as long as theres not standing water after. Or is it beneficial for the surface to be under too? But ive noticed that damages the pins that're there still.

Do what this guy said. Also called bottom watering. You can do it regardless of the maturity of any pins or fruits
