Micropore and Transpore under microscope

Thought I'd put some photos I took today with basic microscope my daughter has.
I've read lots on transpore and micropore.
Micropore normally gets the better write up due to being more hardy in pressure cooker were transpore will melt

I've looked for photos of micropore and Transpore under the microscope but have never seen any photos.

Think this will be good to compare the two items.

First up is micropore
And the second photo is transpore under, x40 magnification. Ml
Micropore looks the better candidate for keeping out the nasty but transpore will have the better gas exchange with the big hollow holes.

Neat!

I use micro pore on no pour agar PP5s, but that's about it. I can at least see if a contaminant has gotten thru on my agar plate.
For grain spawn I don't use it. I know its becoming popular but I don't trust it.

He said toilet paper was used to compare to micropore tape. That's TP bunghole not TP transpore

Old thread I know, but I just tried micropore and transpore on the same tub.

The transpore did NOT breath at all. There were no dry rings at all. Two layers of micropore gave exact same rings as very tight poly and one layer gave exact same as very loose poly.

I have seen several say the transpore has larger holes, but I don't believe those are completely open holes. Regardless 3M transpore is worthless for our purposes. It will not breath at all.
