Unmodified Tubs 1

Can any 66 qt tub be used unmodified for bulk cubes? I am able to fan and mist any amount of times throughout the day. It seems like unmodified tub teks are specific to certain tubs.
If this is ok, how often would I fan and mist?

I am going to try Bod's unmodified ten here for the first time tomorrow:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22337800
And I am using a 27qt tub, so I think it will be fine regardless. It really depends on your environment and how the lid sits upside down on top of the tub.
I think the main principle is to turn the lid enough to allow some openings when you're home. This should increase FAE and may require you to mist more when you're home. When you're not home, simply line up the lid as if you were going to put it on, and flip it upside down. You should have a gap to still allow fresh air and maintain humidity.

You can use pretty much any plastic tub that has a lid, just flip the lid

Some people had put little spacers on the four corners of the lid to make it have air gaps.
If you know how to grow you can use any tub

Im confident that I can keep the moisture level right (spraying it until it is glistening a little), but im just not sure how I can tell how much fae is happening or if it needs more, other than once they are all growing and see them getting skinny/reaching for the air.

It would be like any other tub. If it's not getting enough FAE, you will notice by the lack of drying from the substrate as well as possibly the shrooms themselves.
This whole tek is for ease of use. As Bod points out, if you do it right, you may not even need to spray whatsoever for the first flush.

Ok, cool. I made many monotubs in the past. But it was like 5 years ago. Its been a while since Ive seen pins. I think I can do this after reading all the info in this thread. Thanks every1.
I just want to be able to pour water in my tub, have my sub raise to the top, and cut em all down while its getting a dunk (like in bods tek). Seems so much better to me than dealing with a mono.
Plus I can still use the tubs for moving this time since they dont have the giant holes all over!

This is my biggest appeal to the whole thing. lol. And it seems really easy and way less work than to add extra steps and possibly end up just cracking the plastic.
Good luck, you got this! Just let the mycelium guide you. Talk to it. Trust in it. And it shall transcend from jars to tubs. And then... one day, you will eat it's beautiful fruit babies.

. Also even if you can partially use the tubs with holes, I get really nervous on moving day when im walking around with all these tubs with holes in them. Idk what people think, or if they even do, but anyone that has seen a mono would know what i was up to...
