I've been doing agar work I'm still getting really really fluffy myc on my agar and I don't know if this is just fluffy ass myc or some sort of contam I can't run away from. I'm on my like 5th or 6th transfer and it seems like it's just getting fluffier like maybe I'm doing a great job at isolating a damn fluffy contam lol
Pictures included sorry they kinda suck hard to image in these little jars

Is this cube myc? It can get fluffy like that.
Those cultures look pretty clean. What agar recipe are you using, how much nutes to agar? If you use a high amount of nutrients cultures tend to fluff up. Although it could always be genetics
If you want a ropier culture try lowering the nutes in your agar recipe, and the fluffy culture should become more Rhizomorphic looking

Here are some old photos of mine of ropey and fluffy cultures

Yup it's cube I want to say Cambodian variety but not 100% positive. I'm using LME agar in the malt agar recipe
Malt Extract Agar (MEA) 10 grams light malt extract 9 grams agar agar 500 ml potable or distilled water
I just made myself some new potato agar so I'm gonna be transferring these to them and see if it stays fluffy or gets ropey. If it stays fluffy should I drop the LME level down to 5 grams or something?
