Mushrooms gone bad in less than 1 day?

Picked these fresh from the fruiting chamber less than 24h ago, dried them for about 1h and had to turn the drier off. They weren't cracker dry but I thought they would be fine if I just put them in a airtight jam-jar and tossed it in the fridge until i got home from work the next day to dry them some more. Didn't have any silica gel around. Today they looked like this when I took them out and they smelled a lot stronger. Not bad, just stronger. They were somewhat slimy, the cap being visibly wet. They're Cubensis Ecuador.
Could they really have gone bad in this time? They're in the dryer now and staying until completely dry.

Yeah they are fine just make sure you keep them in the dehydrator until completely done.

Why would you dry something out and then put it in the refrigerator?
Once they are "cracker" dry, put them in a jar in a cabinet, not the fridge.

Everyone makes mistakes. If you can't keep them in the dehydrator for whatever reason, use a cardboard box. The box will draw moisture out, slowly. Dehydrator is best, then vacuum sealed imo.

I used to pour a bag of desiccate into a big tupperware container, put a pyrex dish on top, then the mush in the pyrex. Rotate mush a few times and in a day or so, absolutely 100% cracker dry.
Waaaaaaay cheaper than buying a dehydrator
