Mycelium mysteriously goes grey after harvest - second flush?
    #24916292 - 01/15/18 04:50 PM (7 years, 2 days ago)

I just harvested my first flush of mushrooms.  Since the beginning I have had bright white and healthy looking mycelium.  I came home today with a dehydrator to pick and dry but my beautiful white mycelium is a grey and a little bit furry mess.  No brightness or color.  I picked all the mushrooms and dunked and have a fan running on it now.  Have any of you ever experienced this before?

Mycelium gets old and tired and dies just like everything else. Sometimes you'll get one-hit-wonders, which will fruit all at once or a "1.5" flush and be done with it.

When I did cakes I'd colonize and fruit in mid 50s low 60s. It took an extra week (even with LI), but they were all one pump chumps and made life a lot easier. I don't like those weak little cakes sitting around.

So you think because it turned grey it's going to be done?  I won't get a second flush out of this round even though I dunked it.

Could just be bruised and getting a bit manky after a second dunk. I'd just throw it back in the fc and see what happens.
