Yeah I'm hoping it's going to get me similar results but with less work haha. Best of luck to you!

I think I would have better luck with shoeboxes/dubtubs during the summer months as the air in my home is really dry cuz of the heat currently!!! Shoeboxes have to be fussed over a lot more than a good, dialed-in monotub with polyfill it seems.
IMO a monotub creates and maintains a much better microclimate/fruiting environment than a shoebox...... It is it's own bio-dome!!!
Shoeboxes are cool too! Don't get me wrong. I just like how a mono keeps it's surface without almost drying out three times a day! Lol
Yeah I'm having the same problem with the air in my house, I'm not going to start the grow until at least March so I'm hoping that will help.
You're not the first to suggest a monotub, I do eventually want to get there, it's just a lot of eggs to put in one basket. If the shoebox goes well that might be my third grow.

I know but in shroom-land I am like a toddler considering I only have 1 grow under my belt :p if the shoebox grow goes well I will consider a monotub for my third grow.

For testing and finding clones I use Unmodded shoeboxes, 5.2qt, 1-1.5 qts spawn to 1.5-2.5 qts coir. I leave the lid on intil I see pins. Then if I’m gonna be around I flip the lid and mist as needed usually once a day, or If I’m not gonna be around I either dub it or if its a short variety like ksss or PE and I okly used 1mycoqt. I leave the lid on and harvest when theyre done or sometimes open when theyre close and let them finish a few hours to half a day in open air. The imperfect seal of the shoebox provides adequate fae.
Monotubs are where its at for yeild and ease of use IMO, but noone wants a whole mono of shit genetics, I just ran a PE6 pin clone that only spit out 2 inchers and aborts in 2 shoeboxes and a 16qt mini, while something is better than nothing I’m glad I wasn’t running monos of it, woulda been a dissapointment for sure. This way its just oh well time to ditch that and try a different one.

I'll try replacing the foil w the lid and see how healthy the myc looks. I live in a very dry climate, so I'm going to keep the cover for now unless I end up with a lot of spawn.
I have noticed in my limited experience that the myc looks healthier if I keep humidity up and reduce misting during fruiting and I'm assuming that's a constant when looking at a spawn run.
I've read a lot of posts about the set and forget when it comes to a monotub. I'll give it a shot.

Exactly what's been keeping me from the monotub.
