Moisture content too low for Coir, bucket tek
    #24912927 - 01/14/18 08:25 AM (7 years, 3 days ago)

I forgot to add more water because I used verm so the moisture content is low. Also I seen a tiny amount of some brown coir (compared to dark cooked coir) when I mixed it up again after cooling, the brown went away very easily wen mixed. so was wondering has anyone done this? Idk if the brown coir is properly pasturized? And how should I add more water, boiling? or room temp?

It probly doesnt need more water. Mix it well. Then squeeze a handful. If it only drips a few drops ur moisture is perfect. If it feels dry and doesnt drip at all, just add water. Doesnt need to be hot water. Just a lil at a time and mix well

Lol na u should be good. U want coir on the dryer side anyway to avoid contams better. Waterlogged coir doesnt colonize well

Id say spawn it as is.  Who knows..  Maybe you made it too wet but now its juuust right.. For all you know adding more water might fuck it up:shrug:

You can always give a decent mist later on.

I also think you should just spawn as is , then give a light mist once spawned

How much water did you use? I put 4 quarts of water for 1 brick of coir, and 2 quarts of verm.
