Cristpy, do your sterilized grain jars contaminate fast if left un-inoculated for a couple of weeks? Hos fast does the infection occur normally?

And i am asking around, you specifically.
So the ac was forcing the 'dirty air' through your filters?
Could you explain the dynamics of how that would happen?
I use tyvek squares with layers of mp tape to hold them down.
I could colonize these jars outside. I have before.

Crispykoot you need still air in the spawn room or contams will likely happen.
I dont think thats true bro.
Its true for me. I'm very careful with air in my spawn room.
Try running a fan or AC unit in there sometime and see...Mold spores can get around and through SFD's (Through if damp at all after processing and transfer) .
I doubt it... It just goes against the grain... Pun intended
Sounds like an issue with lids and filter materials rather than air movement. Though those could be solved for the largest part by restricting air movement.

No. I run test jars to check my sterilization visually.

Yes. They work best dry. They only work dry actually. How would I fuck them up in front of a hepa?

To my knowledge, the only mold spores that can ignore a proper filter is fusarium. But then again, strange things happen in some cases, I know I've had some weird shit happening to me, so I'll keep an open mind.

I've had an electric fan heater on near 24/7 and he hasn't contaminated anything for me. I know my tape method etc might not be ideal, but it works for me. Fyi the brownish jars in the middle have coir they are not contaminated lol at least I don't think so.

Might make sfds brittle.. Why are they so wet you need to dry them?

Dude...Its not rocket science...Air movement in a confined space. Figure it out... SFD's are not perfect. They don't always fit perfectly. Molds will grow on them and certainly bacteria.

Foil won't do anything to keep mold spores from reaching the lid, that's absurd. It's serves as a dust cover, that's about it.

No it shouldn't effect the filter at all..
Filters get wet somewhat from processing. There's always a couple of drops of water on my lids when I take the foil off after they cool. Cooling also releases moisture in the jar which touches the filter and makes it wet...

No. I run test jars to check my sterilization visually.
But I was under the impression that youre saying that your jars will contaminate if left in an area with air movement, so Im just wondering how long your jars will stay clean if left un-inoculated in an area with air movement?

That makes my filters crack. If i dry them like that. I dont even pc with foil anymore. Just a cheap plate covering the jars.
Thanks for the rocket science remark. Growing shrooms isnt. Im living proof.

And maybe dont use sfds? Stop with passive aggressive attitude please.
I asked you for clarification and your response was a verbal eye roll. Thanks. Thats how you earn albinos btw.

If I say that's absurd is because I know what I'm talking about. I've been dealing with god-awful mold problems for several months, where blank agar plates that were never opened contaminated to shit, becasue the plastic lid of no pour containers aren't perfect, however tight they may seem to close.
Also, https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24784138#24784138
It can be ok in some cases to sterilize a media bottle with agar that only has foil covering the neck. But you gotta use it quick when you take it still hot out of the pc, or at least wait for the agar to cool some in a SAB.

I haven’t done any agar work since 12/14... usually it’s never more than 10 days. I poured a sleeve of plates like three weeks ago too lol
