Aqua Blue Hue on Shoebox Substrate Surface - Bad, Good?

Hi Guys,
Jumping off a recent thread here, my Penis Envy fruits are blobbing mostly (first flush) with a few regular bodies coming through as well. - My concern is that in a good majority of my shoeboxes, there's an electric almost aqua looking blue hue scattered amongst the top of the substrate. Not necessarily on any of the fruits, but more so the substrate surface. - I've been misting twice daily fairly heavily. - Any thoughts here?

Looks like bruising. Could be from direct misting or the surface drying too fast.

I live in a pretty dry environment and sometimes I don´t mist for 3-4 days, unless you are fruiting open air or provide a lot of FAE in some other way then It would make more sense to mist heavily twice a day. Does the substrate surface really dry out twice a day in with your setup?

Pretty classic results from uncased MS Penis Envy ime.
When you get these blobbed out first flushs you will notice that most of the sub surface is covered in a "sheet" of little blobs, those tiny blobs will mature and start to bruise and change color, making the surface look funky AF alot of the times.
I just pick anything that is the size of a marble and leave the rest. If you're careful you can pluck them right off with almost no damage to the sub.
You should get a decent 2nd flush of more normal looking penis.
Next time I would apply a 50/50 casing at full colonization, it will reduce blobs greatly

Gotcha, thanks. - I know surface humidity is mainly a "feel" thing, but with shoeboxes is there a feasible misting schedule for best results? I'm just not sure how to gauge my need.

Thanks, yeah I had feared not casing them would cause blobs, based on some prior research. - But my plan was to send these to monotub and a moment of contam uncertainty turned it into 12 shoeboxes to hedge that. - Got some advice not to case things, which, obviously caused some blobs regardless.
I had read elsewhere that when blobs approach a grey blue color they're ready to harvest... is the marble sizing potentially premature? - I have a good chunk of blobs currently at marble size, and some are getting way bigger than that, if I let some run to bigger sizes, how can I truly gauge when to grab them?
Lastly, how does turning this first flush over to the second work exactly? Let's say I don't harvest everything on the surface in terms of blobs....do they just die off and get worked back into the substrate via renewed mycelium?

hahah yeah it is! I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that! - Just some greenery that sprouted with my fruits.... not sure what the implications of that are, maybe some kind of rogue seed in the Rye or Coir or whatever... but still super funny!

That means your not getting a thorough pc cycle. You might want to let it go longer when pc'ing your grains.
