Incubation Question

Hi All,
So I inoculated my BRF jars on Dec 18th and left them in my apartment while I went home for the holidays. My landlord came into my place and turned my heat down while we were away. I figure the temperature of the room probably got down to about 45-50 F.
When I returned there was no sign of myc growth. I have them sitting at 75 F now and it's been 7 days since I've been home and still no sign of growth.
My question is: Do you think there's a chance of growth still or no?

If its been a full week, I would probably say that they're done for. They may not be pretty, but a TIT incubator was designed for situations like these. Better luck next time

Id give em a few more days, aslong as the cakes havnt dried out they should be fine. We store spores in the cold so that shouldnt really effect them , its the heat thatll screw things up, but ya i wouldnt give up just yet ive had jars sit for a month before showing growth, maybe start some more jars in the meantime if you have more spores or start playing around with agar. Best of luck to you Dont use a incubator thats outdated garbage

They'll be fine, i think u could freeze spores. The myc will be fine to and can even take some freezing.

I've put fully colonized jars of grain spawn in the fridge to store them for a couple weeks.
How colonized were these? Also, why is your landlord turning your heat down!

I'd ask him for rent, seeing as he's obviously confused about who's living there...

He said he was coming in to do some work in the apartment... He's OCD and wants to check up on the place. Not the best situation
