Get it out of your grow area ASAP, I’ve had success placing a pint jar over a contaminated sub to get a first flush.

Toss that one. There's no hope of getting a flush before the trich completely ravages that substrate.

Be sure its trich first and not bruising. Brusing can look green sometimes. The only reason i say that is cuz i dont see any trich mold anywhere else. Could still be trich. Is it powdery looking? If u know its trich tho toss it.

I got trich tonight, first it looked like huge knots but soon it got a green tint. problem is I accidently misted the tub before I noticed it's trich. After I saw it I bleached down all my other monotubs and my entire grow area, then I tossed the contents of my trich monotub and washed it and took a shower before needing to mist my other tubs. Does this stuff spread between tubs easily? think I'm safe lol?

If you let it get out of hand its not good for your grow area/house.. The spores get everywhere and worse, mycelium fragments
You did the right thing getting it out asap. The worst is when you don't notice it in one of your tubs

Thanks this is making me a bit more relaxed, was really worried after misting that tub in my grow room before I noticed the tiny specs of trich. Hope I've got it under control.

Found this awesome write up on contaminants and thought this thread would be appropriate to share it on.

how is everyone identifying this so easily? I've grown successfully several times but really need to get better at identifying upcoming contams... is it the spot at 12 o'clock kind of 2/3-3/4's up the pic?
What is it that makes everyone certain?
Thanks, just trying to learn

Its green. And people are a little quick to id contams but the only other thing it could be would be bruising. And u should be able to tell the difference if u see bruising.

My success rate with cutting out trich is pretty low, but it's not impossible if you catch it early enough. If you can spot the difference between trich myc and cube myc, you can spoon it off the top of a casing layer. That's the best case scenario. Once it starts to produce it's green spores your chances of cutting it out completely are very low. I've had some luck with cutting out some mean green with a razor sterilized with a blow torch. I'd cut at least a full inch past the contamination in all directions. The overwhelming majority of the time you'll only delay a full blown trich infestation by cutting out sections. Usually you'll see it growing again in the hole or around it within 2 days. I've had no luck with peroxide, and I think the added fluid just spreads the trich spores to other areas. If trich is only spotted on the top, you can slow it's growth by covering it with salt. That's about it in my opinion. Doing any of the above (especially cutting and peroxide) seems to shock the myc and makes for a poor harvest if the tub isn't fruiting yet, in which I'd just trash the tub. If you spot trich mid flush, I'd do nothing for it, harvest within the next couple days, then trash the tub. The only reason I would try any of the above is if for some reason you have to try and salvage some fruits from that tub. Or just to try the methods yourself and see what happens. For SCIENCE!! And always separate contaminated tubs from the rest the moment you spot anything unsavory.
