Is Liquid Culture Still Current
    #24906550 - 01/11/18 09:12 PM (7 years, 6 days ago)

So I have a lot of people on here that are for LC and still use it.

On the other hand I have the same amount of people saying LC is outdated and agar is the way to go.

In my personal opinion here........

I have 4 jars consisting of 2 inoculated with LC and the other 2 with a half or a whole petri dish of agar placed in them.

The LC seemed to colonize the jar way faster overall.

On the same subject has anyone ever done g2g with agar compared to LC and had any different results?

This is my goal once they are at 100% :strokebeard:

LC is definitely still current and many people still use it. However your question doesn’t really make sense due to the fact that producing a viable contam free LC requires the use of agar. LC will always colonize faster due to its ability to reach more of your spawn compared to the contact area of an agar wedge. G2G recovery shouldn’t matter if the Agar and LC were both clean

:whathesaid:

Question makes sense.  G2g colonization will be the same whether is A2g, or LC2g.

If you're suggesting going from multispore to LC definitely do not do that.  Just not worth the risk.

I love LC. I use either LC, LI or G2G depending on the project

I blend an agar wedge in water and pour into a LME broth and put on a stirrer for a week or so.

Thanks for all your input. I just like gathering info myself:takingnotes:

Now that I have found agar to be one of the easiest things I have done, I think it's time to make a shitload of LC with this retarded amount of agar that I have.

You can never have enough supplies around.  :evil2:

That link I posted above has failed me one time for LCS so far.

The only reason it failed is because I couldn't see thru 8grams rye flour too 500ml water  it was probably still good just didn't trust it.
