Trying to save PE mycelium from old pf cakes.

I had finally gotten agar and decided to use a few of the dishes I got to continue on my PE. I used up my entire mss on my last pf cake grow and didn't feel like spending anymore money or waiting on the mail for spores to come in. I decided to use one of my jars that wasn't doing very good that took two month to colonize to take mycelium off of and spawn it to agar. The agar dish has been incubating for 4 days now and most of the growth I am seeing is from mold and bacteria with a tiny bit of weak mycelium. My other dishes full of B+ and ATL#7 spores are actually doing really well though so I think my technique in my SAB was clean enough for what I was trying to do.
My question is if it would be worth it to save this PE mycelium and clean it up on more agar dishes or if I should just start over with spores because of how dirty and weak the growth is. If I did save it then how good of a chance be that the mycelium is actually a good fruiter given how slow the colonization is?

Hey man,
Do you have any pictures for us?
A cube is a cube, is a cube... They are all from the same family, if you can tear apart a mushroom and take a piece of it to clone would be a better bet then trying to isolate healthy mycelium from a heavily contaminated petri dish... That being said if P.E is super important to you then you will have to do multiple agar transfers to save the Mycelium.
I do have a nice link in my stone prodject thread, would you like me to copy it here for you?

I can take pictures once I get home. I don't have mushrooms left that I could clone except a few dry aborts so idk how well those would actually work and what kind of genetics id be passing off into my next grow.
Your project thread sounds interesting, yeah I'd like to see it.

Thanks, this will really come in handy. I actually ended up throwing my contaminated dishes away and decided it was better to start over.
