How long do you think it is ok to store fresh cubes in the fridge for in a paper bag?

As long as they still look and feel somewhat fresh, buy I have no clue how long that would be. I´ll have to experiment with this. But I would say a week, they should be able to stay fresh cause I see mushrooms in the store that are from the other side of the world and still fresh, wonder how long they have been stored.

I did it for a couple weeks once. They looked good and snowed no signs of decay or rot, lost a bit of moisture but looking at it as food, they were safe to eat. I know it was at least 2 weeks, maybe even 3.

Easily 1-3 weeks. They'll dry out. I actually use the fridge to dry fresh oysters since I can't eat em all. After a week or so they're not "fresh" they're not bad either they're just too dry to be fresh. If you put them in a cardboard box or wide open paper bag they'll dry fast. After 5-7 days of "fresh storage" in a closed bag/box I suggest take the plastic wrap off(grocery packed mushrooms) or open the paper bag or cardboard box the (mu)shrooms are in and let them dry. Since if you cant get to them fresh you want them to be dry.
Cubes that get slowly dried in the fridge still work great. They even get damn near cracker dry after a while.
Oyster mushrooms that dry out in the fridge completely are still valuable ingredients. Grind them with salt or reconstitute them in stuff like risotto.

My take:
You're probably fine if they pass the sniff test, and if you cut into the fruit, and they don't have any bacterial slime on/in them. On the other hand if they have begun to puff into live mycelia like clone tissue does (and, for example, oysters in the supermarket), I'd think that's getting a bit nasty.
Somewhat depends on what you're storing them in, if it has a tendency to desiccate them or not - a paper bag will tend to dry them, whilst a plastic container would hold onto the moisture, promoting bacterial growth.

This is correct, anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks is perfectly fine. Anybody store them for a week to eat them?

Some gymnopilus I located during last years season were kept in a paper bag in the fridge, since that is how I keep fresh edible mushrooms in the fridge. Within a week, they were basically dried. They did not make me sick when I used them, but it did seem fast to dry up without spoiling.
I've always heard a week in the fridge maximum for fresh mushrooms, but maybe this is referring to a sealed container (which I probably wouldn't do with mushrooms).

Here is where my motive comes in....most people who see a post like this will safely say a week is fine in the fridge if ya want to eat your fruits fresh and i completely agree as i have done so plenty of times in tbe past...and then a little while later i find myself in an argument about dehydrators and potency when the real truth being that thr diff between potency loss from fan drying n desiccant vs a dehydrator is so fucking minimal with the diff being an extra cap or 2.
That said I do obviously agree a dehydrator is your best bet but feel I have been guilty of stressing too much on potency when drying when addressing new growers.

i honestly cant say. as ive always used heat to a degree. even with this noob method.
back of an old crt monitor. still used heat
i like to stress it because instead of explaining 10 million things, its easier to point to the panacea.
the first time i did shrooms was from a guy that learned here to put them in a roll of paper towels. they were shitty in comparison.
it was 15yrs ago tho

That is some funny stuff right there! It must be nice to have excess mushrooms!
Though, I do know that a mower can be a useful tool in getting mushrooms started or spread. I found some choice agaricus in 2017, brought some home and placed them in the grass under my maple tree. Next time I mowed, I just went right over them. Within a month or so, a couple new ones popped up! Hoping they keep coming back, as I didn't even get to eat any.
