What would you do- Redboy MS plate

Hey all,
When cultivating new cubensis varieties I like to get a clean plate from MS and let it pin, then clone the pin and use that 'verified fruiting culture' for myco work.
I have a plate of Redboy spores germinating. It appears contam free, but I was planning on transferring once to make sure and have a plate with more rhizo growth.

My normal plan would be to let that clean plate go and clone a pin, but given that I don't know the background genetics of this Redboy, I'd hate to clone a pin and narrow my genetics to non-red/brown spore producing strains. The person I got the print from said they always produce red spores though...
Given my situation, would y'all 1) Use the clean MS plate to inoculate grain 2) Let the plate pin, then use the pin culture to inoculate grain 3) Something else?
Just curious to hear what others would do, or if my results will even improve by using a 'verified fruiting culture' over MS. My intent is for nice fruits to print from; a wall to wall flush would be nice but not what I need at the moment.
Hoping to start APE and AA+ after I get the redboy (and a PE blob clone) to grain.

Keep one plate for pinning and taking clones, and use the other MS plate to inoculate some grain. Always keep a few balls in the air

While I like that idea I am trying to scale back my grows while sill being able to try cultivating various varieties/species.
Since I just want to get ~30 prints and some fruits, I was only planning on making up 4-5 qt of spawn and then moving onto the next variety.
Unless I don't get any redspores from the MS, the pin culture might be a good backup, but I worry about cloning from a pin with unknown spore color...

My first three clones were a small pin from a plate, another one was something between a hyphal knot and a pin, and the third was a small hyphal knot. They all performed nicely and all seem to have potential to produce both small, medium and large fruits depending on the environment. So snatching clones from a pinning plate seems like a promising procedure so far.

Good to know! I'd like to get it to grain ASAP but since I will only fruit a few shoeboxes/trays, maybe I will wait for a knot to clone and use.
Out of curiosity, do you remember if the knot(s) continued to develop once the culture went to agar? Or did they remain as knots while the plate colonized?

The knots broke up and colonized the plate. The youngest knots/pins colonized the fastest.
