Hi guys hope you're well.. I'm new on here and have a question about identification. I bought a Golden Teacher spores some time ago but mushrooms that have grown are bit different to photos of GT I found on Google and on here. Can anyone confirm that this is a GT or possibly some other strain of psilocybe Cubensis? Many thanks. Have a great day

Very interesting how small the cap is in relation to the Mushroom its self.
I know nothing when it comes to these but PE back in my day used to look like that.
Maybe just mark it Mystery and trade for a different strain.
The Fruits look great though, maybe clone?

most all ps cubensis will look about the same because they all are about the same. unless they are albinos or penis envys and those look a lot like penis envys to me but could very well just be a mutated GT though. how knows. beware though if they are PE. those bad boys are strong.

GT is a variety not a strain

Most generally....people can speculate based on special characteristics of a variety ei. PE or Albino, but ultimately a cube is a cube

I suspect you sourced your spores from the same place as mine (I assume you are in the UK and the website is named after a type of plant). I had very similar behaviour. I've found in warmer grow conditions they look much more like GT.

Warmer conditions? Try more fae and light. These guys grew in 50-60F open air 10% rh..
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22105120
These guys were outside when nights would get below 40F during a massive drought.

People really seem to have extremely understated how beneficial air and light actually are. Only within the last decade people began to understand the importance.

Honestly, I suspect this is a mutation. I've tried the same source with lots of light and FAE and they still look the same (but larger). The only time i've seen them looking like a classical GT is with higher temp.

Higher temps will make them grow faster. However, I'd bet money if you grew them outside in cool temps, it might take a few weeks before they go from pins to monsters, but it would not look at all like the ones posted in OP. Fae can even make pe mutant strains look normal.
