Nigella Lawson said you can substitute Karo for Golden Syrup, but I've had zero success so far making LC out of it.

Strange, the two sizes I have (was trying to match bod's setup as much as poss to keep all the volumes right) fit in each other nicely.

Are the fats in lumps like suet? Plus it's got oils but at least the flour should wash off. Have you tried this stuff before? I CBA to go look at it.

Cool. I got mine from wilkos which was ok. Then I went mad and bought 40kg wheat, 50kg rye, 25kg barley and 25kg oats. I'm still to have a bulk grow. Fruit out the jars absolutely fine. But bulk is trich city.

Oats are nice and quick. But I've gotta get through the rye and wheat first. The woman has spoken.

where did you the buy oats? i went to shop for tubs today. found them at staples originally after someone mentioned it here the other day. 2 for 25 pounds
but got a better deal on amazon 5 for 37 pounds with free delivery
these are less robust than the 'really useful box'es but it does stuck well into each other. same company tho

Heck of alot of money for tubs, Do you not have a poundstrecher, home bargains, b and m near you?
I wanted to do Oats but I couldn't complain for 3.99 for WBS found an easy tek on here I'm going to try.
Just soaking grain at the minute in a few jars looks okay, few floaters from the sunflower seeds

This right here is wrong btw. It's the amps that kill you, not the volts. So a device running on 110V drawing 10 amps would be more dangerous than a device running on 220V drawing 5 amps. Just to clarify.
well "just to clarify" it is not wrong, it is widely recognized as safer.

Although it may not be law to use 110v on site, on large sites where there are numerous trailing cables, trades and organizations all working in the same area 110v is considered to be the safest
Current is what kills, correct, but it doesn't really matter what your device is drawing -if you are touching a live wire, or a device which is live YOU are the device it is then powering. You have a given resistance, the higher the voltage the higher the current that will go through you at that same resistance.
I know I would sooner brush off a 24VAC live wire than a 240VAC one, or have someone throw a bucket of water over me while using a device of the same power which was connected to a 24VAC supply.

Cool find. Please let me know how many you can fit in the presto. I would guess 8. They look stackable too if you put filter/ship on the side.
I used to be anti plastic but glass is heavy, slippery, big expensive and takes up space.

she is not making LCs though!
If you cannot get malt extract then there are plenty other things I would use before golden syrup. Many make 4% LCs, I would recommend far less, I first read of using very little from Workman of sporeworks. He recommended just 0.1-0.5%.
I would go for a tiny amount of treacle if you have it, or brown sugar, or maple syrup or honey. I have even used clear apple juice before.
