Birthed a PF cake to find a mushroom growing under the lid
    #24898477 - 01/08/18 12:48 PM (7 years, 9 days ago)

This is my first time cultivating and today during birthing I found in one jar mycelium has burst through the dry verm layer and developed a decent mushroom under the lid without me knowing! Now my question is - should I roll it in verm and put in straight into my SFC or should I pluck it off and dunk it with the remaining cakes? Cake is still very moist and heavy, it seems like it hasn't lost much water during colonisation. It also has another half an inch pin growing on its side. I have to admit the sight of my first home grown mushroom got me really excited.

Can someone more experienced advise me how to proceed?

I would personally leave it on and see if it gets bigger, keeping an eye in itand plucking it if it starts to look like it's dying
