First Bulk Grow: A2G Question

Hey guys,
Doing my first bulk grow using SpitballJedi's Rye tek. I A2G'd 7 jars 1 week ago with an agar isolate that was in the fridge for a couple months. My question is, do these jars look normal under these circumstances? I figured that they would have colonized more by now, but maybe the mycelium is adjusting to warmer temperatures again.

Each jar has 4 GE holes, made with a nail. I will be spawning to CVG in a monotub. Any tips?

I've only worked with WBS, but my transfers usually recover within three days, and become aggressive within a week.
That does seems a bit slow.
Is your grain hydration dialed in? My jars usually look a bit wetter than that, though again that could just be WBS difference.

It will colonize faster if you use multiple wedges & shake them into the grain rather than dropping them on top like that.
Cold temperatures could be affecting the growth. Try to keep it in the mid to high 70's

Did you actually use the old isolate to inoculate, or did you transfer the old isolate and inoculate with new growth?

Grains look good from here too, and you're correct about multiple wedges, as well as, shaking the wedges into the grains somewhat upon inoculation. However the going from fridge to grain temp differentiate has nothing to do with the slow growth.

I used the isolate wedge out of the fridge. Let it adjust to the warmer temps for about 12 hours before noccing. Yeah, I totally spaced doing multiple wedges per jar until about 10 minutes after the fact... Just hoping it will still colonize with just 1.
They are in a somewhat cold environment, I already moved them, but I will try and find a warmer place.

true dat but for a first timer id recommend leaving the grains undisturbed. if you see colonies of contams break out on top of your grains you know your technique was fucked. imo, if you shake it up, it might leave the novice in a lurch about pin pointing the problem if one arises.
cause a shook up jar will just explode with contams .... my agar wedge?? or.. my technique...

Yes. Once you get your technique down, then you can start shaking after innoc. But until then i'd wait. It is a lot easier to see if a contamn got in after innoc, or if you have clean growth. Plus if you do have clean growth, you can shake at 30% colonization anyways.

Good to know. My sterilization tek is pretty good imo, but I will definitely wait a couple times to shake after innoc. I've done quite a bit pf cakes but this is only my 3rd time using the PC so I'm still getting the hang of it.
