Can I case before full colonization on a monotub?
    #24896835 - 01/07/18 04:23 PM (7 years, 10 days ago)

Hey everyone, so I tried blindingleaf's casing in a shoebox, and holy shit, dat pinset. However, I missed the chance to properly case first flush. I'm still nailing down this clone's colonization rates, sadly.

Ok, so here's my idea: pasturize the casing and the sub at the same time. Mix the sub and spawn, get it all level, then apply the casing right after.

Has anyone done this with success? It seems like a great way to guarantee a colonized casing, especially since blindingleaf's with added lime lasts forever

Yea you can do that. I do that a lot. I spawn my tubs and apply a thin casing.

I really like using micro pore tape instead of polyfill. Set up this way I just leave the tubs be until harvest.

yes you can case at spawning. it knocks anywhere from 3-5 days off your spawn to harvest time frame if your using a casing layer.

Funny you say that, I accidentally used a fucked up fruiting chamber to be my monotub.  Well it was so fucked up that I had covered up most of the holes with microspore tape.  This worked surprisingly well for a monotub.

I love micropore! Near me I can get these 2" wide rolls , I typically put a double layer over the bottom holes and a single on the top.
You can add/remove layers if you need to dial in but I haven't had to yet, with my tubs it seems to dial them in just right.

Polyfill works great but I suck with it, I can never pack it in consistent and I'm always having to fiddle with it. The MP tape is always consistent
