How do i top fruit?

Hi everyone, I currently have a jar of Cubensis that is about 90-95% colonized, but has a small bacterial spot on the bottom that i think is never going to colonize.
Some people have recommended that i top fruit the jar, but i haven't been able to find a clear tek on how to do it. Ive seen some people case the jar and then put a ziploc over it, but im not sure if thats the best way or not.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You got it. Remove the lid and put a ziplock over the jar mouth. You don't need to add a thin casing layer, but I would.

Sweet, should i put it all the way over the jar as far as it goes, or only enough to cover the mouth? And should i zip it up as close to the jar as possible?
Also, how thick of a casing layer would you recommend? I have some CVG right now that was prepped a little on the dryer side with 4 quarts of water.

all the way to the top. you can also fruit it within a sgfc or a monotub instead of the ziplock bags if you would like.

The coir/verm/gypsum you have will do just fine.... Has it been heated or "pasteurized" though? It should be, lol.
Yes, add an inch to an 1.5 of sub or casing to the jar (press it down slightly) and then mist it lightly, cover with Ziploc bag and fruit! Then mist only AS needed....I don't think the jar will fruit well without that casing layer, you need that!

No it hasn't been heat treated, other than pouring boiling water on it and letting it sit for a few hours in a cooler. Do you think this will be fine?
Also do you know how well of a yield i should expect to get out of this? I'm mainly looking to clone a fruit but if theres enough for some doses that would be great.
And should i be expecting fruits to just pop up through the casing layer or should i allow the casing to colonize?

1.) How long since it was cooked?
2.) You could clone the best fruit if fruits come.
3.) Yes, the casing has to colonize before pins will form on top.

Its been about 6 days since i bucket tek'd it. I saw a post by bodhisata saying he used week old coir so im hoping it'll still be fine. You think thats alright?
And do i need to mist again while the casing is colonizing? I know that once it is colonized you look for small beads of water but what signs do i like for before its colonized to know when to mist?

As long as it is field capacity you shouldn't have to mist except for lightly after you fill the casing in the jar.
If it was mine I would probably re-heat it somehow, but that might be more trouble than it's worth for such a little amount of casing....

I appreciate the help

Does anyone know if i am supposed to just zip the bag up, or am i supposed to tape it tightly around the jar? when i zip it there is still some pretty big sized gaps letting air in.

Just put it over the jar, you want it to be able to at least breathe
