I guess selling my bitcoin for Etherum might have been a bad move.

Took last Tuesdays dip as an opportunity to get my foot in the door. Currently holding .45 ETH and 1.2 LTC. I think it was a good move

Bitcoin will never die.
To think that it will never die is a bit of bad route to take. Putting a lot of Faith in a single, already outdated technology, in a booming market where everyone wants to dethrone in. Something faster, better and more efficient will come along and some companies or government will implement it, and BTC will slowly go the way of a collectors item.
I'm sure a lot of people thought the commodore and amiga computers would be around forever. Look at them now.
Technology moves fast, quick and is ruthless.
As for people saying BTC is the only way to get into alts, or the primary way, thats also changing. Once regulation becomes more commonplace, so trading sites and vendors can have FIAT gateways easier, you will just be able to move in and out of whatever coin they trade on that site with your FIAT and not need to do the BTC or ETH markets to buy them. From what Geo was saying Kraken already does this. I haven't set up an account there but I plan on checking it out soon. Having to trade an alt into BTC/ETH/any other coin except the one you actually want to buy is inefficient and a bad way to do things, its just a necessary thing until those FIAT gateways are running.

I don't do the daytrading thing. I've invested about 700 to start and my portfolio fluctuates between 1200 and 2k depending on the market that day. Its been slowly climbing.
It should be noted I didn't put that initial 700 in until like a week before christmas.

Exactly.
Well Bitcoin is still the King and rules them all. Maybe for many years. Who knows.

I'd be interested in knowing an amount invested vs. profit. I'm definitely jumping into the pool here...well, with the amount I'm investing it's more like dipping my toe in, but I don't really have income coming in to speculate with.

It's hard to say how much you make. A week ago I would have doubled my money if I cashed out. If I cashed out today I would have maybe 15% profit.

If I was to completely cash out right now I'd be up around 500% profit from about 3 months ago. Got back in right before bitcoin almost tripled so I just had lucky timing though, unless a similar trend happens I'm not expecting that kind of increase to happen again within a similar time frame but who knows. Also got really lucky on a few altcoins when I was trading around a bit, traded into them right before they blew up and traded out of them before they crashed but I'm also done trading around for now.

I just watched a commercial on youtube that said the bitcoin crash is a conspiracy and is being controlled by youporn and the free masons. LOL, any truth to this?
