I confess I started a thread about “debunking” the flipping of cakes that started to bottom pin. I was told specifically by a TC in the Q&A TC thread not to flip them but did it anyway... and later on wrote this thread.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24818946

After being told by a couple TC’s that it wasn’t “debunked” I in turn changed the name “to flip or not to flip cakes”. I felt so stupid and was afraid I made people think I was arrogant. Which at the time I was...

Now I know it’s more important to keep up on proper conditions than it is to flip bottom pinning cakes.

I confess I just made the weirdest harvest of shrooms ever. All of the TOC's from that bag are barely an inch but have thick fully formed caps and stems. Basically mini cubes. I wasn't really expecting anything out of this bag to begin with. It's weird because I keep wanting to think it's because it's bacterial but I don't see any mold or bacteria of an off smell. I think I just got some funky genetics. I soaked it again just for the fuck of it to see what happens.

Anyways I got 8 jars of KSSS and this bin still looks good. I keep thinkiong it's going to turn on me but it now has promordia. I remeber last time I had a bin it turned and it had primordia. But that one kind of smelled. But I did do this one right. I have a lot of work to catch up on. I need to make some agar for these wild clones of L. Nuda and P. Ostreatus. Uggh but I don't want to do shit. Caught a cold and I'm barely fighting it off. I can feel it trying to creep in. And for me to get a mild cold feels like the worst cold ever. Been doubling down on the reishi.

Also I confess I am not fully sure what kind of cube is in this bin because I forgot to label it. It might be escondido or amazon. I'm thinking maybe amazon. I could have accidentally combined them too. For some reason I remember two jars of amazon and two of escondido and I'm trying to remember which ones were in the last bin. Yay for surprise cubes.

Ill share one fun story with yall before i go back to lurkin. Not long ago i got all set for innoc; gloves, mask, scrubbed, the whole thing. Just as i was about to start i noticed these couple flies made it in and would not leave me alone. I spent a while chasing them down (still in my gear) and suddenly realized i was living out Walter White bent On removing the contamination from his lab.

Well I guess they are an amazon of sorts. I remember the escondido being the first thing that pinned for me. Medium sized dense shrooms o plenty.  It's a good strain. I ordered it off a reputable supplier and is the only strain I have ever ordered besides some leucistic variety that might have been B+. You guys pretty much make up my whole library.

Escondido is a Spanish word too, it literally means 'hidden'. I hope those won't hide from you TBC.

Finally, the shroom gods seem to be smiling upon thee.

Well I'll tell ya. I didn't just sit here and wait for them to reward me. It was challenging to fix everything and not be lazy. Guess I'm just trying to triumph over adversity or some shit like that. Now that I feel safe that everything really is clean I can get those jars of KSSS into some shoe boxes without panicking something is going to go wrong. Headed out today to get some. I'm just going to do small boxes this time around until I feel confident enough to move to large monos again.

No pain, no gain. I'm thankful for every single obstacle I've encountered, which have been many and weird ones as well. That's what makes us improve and show our mettle.

I actually don't consider a good thing the luck some people have to glide through cultivation right from the start, so I feel you and I like the resolve you're showing.

I agree. I had a rough year of learning curve, but I think I have seen just about every contamination possible, except slime mold. To beat ones enemy one must know the enemy.

First time I posted here I was laughed out at 10oz from 7 quarts first go. Saying that's impossible. Ms luck dawg

Wow. I totally missed this random bottle while cleaning. It fell behind the shelf. It's pinning so I might as well keep it and see what it does. I put some leftover sub in this 64oz bottle that seemed like it was destined for the trash pile.

So I inoculated some Muda bottles on Christmas Eve(10 days), they're ~40% done. Figured they'd come along a little more than that.

Turns out I had those lids on fucking tight after a shake and forgot to loosen them at all. Dammit! Will see the difference it makes in the coming days. I'm impressed they're where they are with such choked GE. Fuckin way she goes, boys.

I confess I came here to learn how to grow gourmet mushrooms. For the most part that's not what I'm learning. No complaints though.
