My Christmas Day Projects

Hey, everybody.
I noc'd 20 RB jars (according to stonesun's RB jar TEK) on Christmas Day with various species: PTampanensis, Portobello, PCube (Albino A+), and PCube PE. Since I'm still learning how to identify whether RB jars are colonising well or not, I thought I'd get some early input.
Although everything else is still quiet, these two jars of PTamp have pulled out ahead (growth started around 28 Dec.):

Here's the left one up close:

And the right:

What do you think?

Make sure you give a good shake now and again and you should have spawn in a few more days.

I would only shake 1 time at 30% colonization. You dont want the mycelium in constant recovery mode.

Hey, KC. Thanks for the input.
It's not primarily for spawns. This species sclerotia-producing. I'll probably spawn it afterwards, but since sclerotia take a good 2-3 months to mature, there's no premium on 'a few more days' here.
But since you brought it up, how often do you shake, and at what percentages?

Yes, I think that's both Violet's and stonesun's rec as well, though stonesun said he's stopped shaking because of the ones that didn't recover. CMD told me he does it at 50-75%. That seemed a bit far along to me, but he stands by it and Pasty seemed to corroborate it on that thread also.

Okay, in addition to the above, there's now growth in a 3rd PTamp jar, 2 Portobello jars, 2 PCube Albino A+ jars, and a jar of Penis Envy.
All of this growth showed up between 5 Jan. and 13 Jan. and, like the PTamp above, it's all from MS. The myc in these jars looks a little thicker than the myc in the PTamp above, which is making me curious because, here, I was told by several people that thick myc is a bad sign.
Here are some pics of the Penis Envy and the two Albino A+:

Here's the Penis Envy up close:

And the middle jar, which is A+:

And two pics of the rightmost A+:

So what do you think?
And what, if anything, should I make of the fact that I've still got 12 jars with nothing happening?

I would stick to using the quarts that germinated first.
Keep the ungerminated jars labeled seperatly and wait some more.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go
If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow
That it's one thing to try and another to fly
You get there quicker just a step at a time
It's one thing to bark, another to bite
The show ain't over till you pack up at night

Okay good. They're all labelled separately and there are only two of them that germinated first (i.e. on 28 Dec.). Any opinions on these latest pics, though?
Thanks for the input.
