This is a pic from my mano tub of P. Cube in a 1:1 Horse poo to verm cased in peet moss and verm 1:1. The color just came in today and it looks almost like bruising yet I don't direct mist my sub. The small pin I cirrcled in red came up late last night and today turned the same color as the other 2 big ones. Any thoughts? (no funky smells either)

I mist it hella, it gets soaked as fuck. I just don't spray it directly on it, I spray up in the air and let it gently float down.

what they all said. mist your brains out. it looks super dry and your pin set is suffering the consequences. Id probably soak that fucker and then leave the lid off for a couple of hours.

Here is a very good quote...

Well, I learned from my tray that I live in an area that requires a casing. Its just too god damn dry here to not do a casing. Though even if they are not "bruised" then why are they discolored so blue, like I touched them? (and no, I did not touch them)

lol sorry man I was in a bad mood...just read through your post and looked at your pics. I honestly think you might have slight tam-paranoia, my opinion it looks good. I think tams would be less questionable and if not I wouldn't worry either way... I won't lie though, I haven't even ever cased in my life so I'm a hypocrite. Keep up the good work

I think the "Blue Ones" may be some what Leucestic, that's where LGT came from. If you let them get dry, they will bruise and it shows up more on leucestic (I am probably spelling this wrong) fruits. That tub does need misting. Next time try applying the casing when you spawn. That way you don't risk "suffocating" the mycelium. Otherwise you need to apply the casing as soon as it hits full colonization. If you do it when it is all ready Knotting/ forming primordia then can basically choke them as the mycelium wont grow up into the casing enough for effective FAE.

Honestly I’m not sure what you saw in this pic that worries you but nothing here is abnormal so I’d say you’re good

cool, some off color ones are just poppin up I guess. The two big blue pins started cracking or splitting. God damn I don't take the lid off except to wave some fresh air in and I soak that casing layer and walls of tub before putting the lid back on. I mist and fan every 4 hours and I go through a mister bottle a day on just that tub alone. I cased it when the surface myce was 100% but it started turning "leather dry" in just a day. I don't see how heavy and frequent mistings that I do still result in still too dry of surface conditions. Do I need to increase misting amounts or how many mists a day?

Sounds like you need to dial your tub in better.

I got no FEA holes in that one because my other tub/trays suffered from low RH. This tub by far is my most successful at fruit and holding moisture. This method is the only one I've read so far that holds the most moisture. I'm just curios what a good step would be?
