How to get a canopy?

So, im pretty successful growing. I get good yeilds, but my issue is even flushes. Like, i aleays have a few early birds. Then the rest come up. How can i get things to come up more evenly? I dont think its my conditions in the fc as i get lots of pins and 99% of them mature. But i hate having to pick some and leave the rest. Any advice from someone who has defeated uneven flushes?
Btw im growing golden teacher. Wbs and coir in baking pans in a fc.

Work with agar to make isolates. This will give you the greatest chance for canopies IME.

MS or Clone/Isolate? Got any pictures to share of where you're at now?

not always. ms canopies are not tricky. its up to the mushrooms. just give em consistent conditions and they will follow.

ms canopies(even though they are short. its still a canopy!)

I guess the answer then for MS is: consistent conditions?

First off, I'd recommend taking a few clones of nice fruits on agar, perhaps one from a cluster (they are more likely to grow in clusters following). Then grow them out, repeating if necessary again.
From that, you can fine-tune your conditions, to keep constant as mushboy stated earlier.
I'd also recommend growing in shoeboxes or trays inside a SGFC when testing clones to get consistent environmental conditions across the board.

Conditions until you get MS to be nearly canopy grows every time. Clones for more uniformity

Have you experimented with wax paper or bubble wrap? If this brings you good results, then your current conditions aren't optimized when the pinset is forming. You could then continue on with the WP/BW as many do, or look into improving your surface conditions when putting into fruiting.

bubble wrap wont teach you shit.
just practice. and even then, some grows will not be canopies.

What condition would help me? More humidity? Or more air? Light and temp are def not issues. Maybe a casing would help? I hate the idea of putting casing on my colonized trays tho. But if that would help id give it a try

Practice will help the most. You don't need to do anything special other than know what to look for and do that

It won't teach you shit if all your conditions are good. If you get a better pinset by using bubblewrap and thus a canopy grow, it'll teach you that specific conditions at certain points of the grow can be improved upon.

more evaporation. evenly across the entire surface. by exposing your tubs to more air. i havent used a casing in awhile so idunno.
so LESS humidity to encourage more even evaporation across your surface. do this however you can i guess.
i do it by using unmodified totes, a slightly wetter substrate mix, a flipped loose fitting or no lid. and a mister bottle.

Ive heard of wax paper and bubble wrap. Maybe ill give one a tey. And if i get better results ill know its surface moisture im lacking. Then ill start doing casings if that could really help. Just been getting decent yeild without a casing so i never even tried it.

Hey Mushboy I see in a lot of your pictures your surface doesn’t appear to be colonized. Have you been using a casing layer lately? By the time my shoeboxes fruit the whole surface is colonized. I too am struggling to achieve consistency in my conditions to have a good canopy grow.

i do a really thin top layer. like super thin and fruit at spawning. by the time its colonized enough to fruit, the top layer acts as a peusdocasing kinda thing.
no top layer

no top layer

I dont fruit at spawning tho. I colonize for a week. I knoe its not needed but i heard that could help my pinsets so i tried it.
I guess cloning a big ass cluster is my only option. But i never get clusters with this strain. But i did clone an 86g mutant a few weeks ago. It was a mushroom that looked like a softball. Havnt put it in grain yet tho
