space cakes with mushrooms?
    #2487939 - 03/31/04 08:09 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

my friends and i are planning on eating "space cakes" this weekend but supposedly with mushrooms in them and not THC. I have only been able to find out about space cakes with THC and nothing about mushrooms. any suggestions or knowledge regarding this question would really help. thanks

I guess its just the same as dosing regularly with mushrooms except that you don't know how much you're gonna get in a cake, so I hope your friend has worked it out good!!

If you put them in a cake and baked it, it would ruin the mushrooms would it not?

Yeah it would probobly ruin it... But you can heat chocolate and butter to a cream, and as its cooling down mix in the mushrooms, and pour into cookie cutters.

I think cakes bake at 375F for 20+min. Brownies at 450F 40+min. I think that's more than enough to destray enough alkaloid to ruin a trip. I think it'd be similar to smoking. Just get a little body high and a big headache.

According to erowid, psilocybin gets destroyed at around 220 degrees celcius, while psilocin is destroyed around 173 degrees celcius (both temps. are in refernce to psilocybin in extracted solution, not mushrooms however)

That's 428F, so g2g for cakes, but not brownies.

Cookies can be baked at 300F. Mushroom cookies, anyone?

If you have ever been to Amsterdamn then you know that space cakes contain mushrooms that have been baked. Personally, I myself have baked ground-up mushrooms in brownies and had a very nice time. I have found that when they are already dried and then baked, it makes them less succeptable to breaking down via heat. Just my experience though.
