PC'ing at a higher temp for shorter time?

So I have this old industrial autoclave, and you can't adjust the time of the cycle there. The default cycle takes about 30 minutes, and it gets to about 18-19 psi, and the temp is supposedly 250F. There's an alternate program on it though, that would raise the temp to 275F. I don't know if the pressure gets higher with that as well?
So I'm worrying about will the 30 min regular cycle be enough for bigger jars (like quarts) or bags? Or do I dare to try the higher temp?
Thanks!

Honestly, i think the time is key. 90 minutes is to ensure everything is killed. Grains are hard for just heat to sterilize because theyre dense. I dont think theres a subsitute for doing it for the right time. Maybe just run it for 3 30 minute cycles, but run it immediatly after it turns off. I turned my pc off one time cuz i had to leave for an emergency. Got back and ran it for the rest of the time needed. Still all the jars got trich cuz i didnt maintain pressure for 90 minutes

Pressure is temperature, so if the pressure goes up the temperature will raise.
If higher psi's can be reached them shorter sterilization times will be fine. However, even at 20 psi a half an hour won't be long enough to sterilize grain jars and DEFINITELY isn't long enough to sterilize bags.

Ok, thanks. Are there any charts about time vs. temperature vs. volume/mass? Or are the recommended times just empirical? Maybe I'll just have to try different volume jars to see where the contaminations start, like moving up from half pints to full pints etc.
I guess I gotta start saving for a PC anyways...

I'd move on to quart jars instead of half pints. 90 min at 15 psi, keeping temp as low as possible while maintaining 15.
