Can I use this agar?

Everyone seems to say you have to use agar to cultivate well (I want to be cool)... So I fucked the pouring of the plates... They cooled while pouring. I've worked out a better Tek to get a decent agar plates, so I'd like to transfer, but I'm not sure if this is bacteria ridden or not. Is it worth it to cut a piece and transfer? Should I cut a large piece or just small?

If it is ok, which one would you select?

Spore syringe?

All the milky off clear goop spread across the plate is bacteria if there is anywhere the myc isnt surrounded or on top of bacteria you can use. Maybe somewhere in the middle. Doesnโ€™t look good though. Try using less spore solution next time and dont spread it around the plate. Or look up josexโ€™s biopsy method and maybe if you get a small enough piece onto the next dish it will outgrow the bacteria.

Also dont put your agar on the carpet, carpets are nasty.

I would scrape the top of the mycelium with a scalpel and smear that onto new plates. Donยดt worry if you only manage to get ahold of a tiny tiny piece, it will be more than enough! Do not dig too much around, you will see that the mycelium will "defame" and become hard to handle, just remember that you want to "rip it up" quickly and try to tear away a tiny tiny piece, and then smear that scalpel onto new plates. Thats what I would do. GL

(If that is mycelium) (IF)

Cool, thanks. That's what I'm looking for. I get I screwed up... So is there a come back. You say if that's myc... Is there any good way to tell? I knocked up a bunch of jars and they look like uncontaminated myc (at least 80-90% of them). Is there any definitive characteristics? Or have I lost a lot of them because of the other contaminants?
