First time grow, is this mold?
    #24873090 - 12/28/17 09:37 AM (7 years, 20 days ago)

Everything has gone great, in fact I have a couple other cakes set out a little before this one and they are fruiting.

(This got white, so much faster than the others... Cobweb? At first I thought it was an awesome strain because the white at the base looked a little like hyphal knots... But they did nothing overnight)

(Here is my grower. This is my first cake ever originally started in a small mouth lipped jar. This is here for a pat on the back)

Looks like arial mycelia, needs more air

Cobweb mold is noticably gray, like light pencil lead

Yes, like 20 small holes connected to a PC fan. I go out of town for a couple days at a time so I need some Auto while I'm away. I guess it's not very auto.

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation. I'm trying to read and absorb as I go (which is why I started w the wrong jar).

How do you know early signs of trich? I was reading once it goes green you prob need a new container. Can you catch it still white?

Put the jar in a cardboard box and hit the jar with a hammer.... Quite a few times. A couple pieces of glass went into the cake, but it seems fine... In fact all of them shaped that started in those jars have primordia.
