PF TEK [NOOB ALERT] HOW TO MAXIMIZE YIELDS? Any thing I can add to my verm and brf?
    #24871700 - 12/27/17 02:57 PM (7 years, 21 days ago)

I'm wondering if there's anything I can add to my brown rice flour and vermiculite mix to strengthen and give me more fruits? Also I want to move on to bulk but I'm curious to where I can find horse or cow manure I went to Home Depot but I read somewhere online that these compost bags  that they sell at commercial stores are no good to use for mushroom cultivation? Help and noob out!! Lol thanks in advance!!

Brown rice flour is nutritious enough that there's not much adding things to it that one could do to increase yield.  Yields are accredited to genetics and environmental conditions.  Genetics are the main factor.

Steer and horse manure pre bagged from Home Depot will work, but you'll have to do a little doctoring to them such as lay the manure out on a tarp in the sun to dry before using it as a bulk substrate for cubensis growth.  If you can source field aged manure do that instead.

Spawn your cakes to coco coir in small trays.  It kicksass and is easy.

Poop has its own set of issues. Coir is cheap,  easily sourced and a monkey can prep it.

Wait so where can I buy this Coco coir? And also will I need to make a mono tub or can I make a small tray layered with cake crumbles and coco coir and place it inside my sgfc? Also do I have to pasteurize or sterilize the Coco coir?

Pet stores.  It used as a lizard substrate.  Monotubs and small trays can be made with it.  All that needs to be done prep it is pour a predetermined amount of boiling water on it in a bucket.

When spawning cakes to a bulk substrate don't dunk the cakes beforehand.

Absolutely beautiful TeK! Fucking love it. Sounds simple enough to me! I'm curious should I add a little gypsum? He doesn't mention it in the tek but...

Skip gypsum. Pf tek crumbled up to coir works great.
