Newb auto fruiting chambers... See any flaws?
    #24869686 - 12/26/17 03:31 PM (7 years, 22 days ago)

So I go out of town for work for 2 days at a time. I need to create something automatic on a small scale.i have cakes, and trays that will go in.
I have a wilhi RH sensor that auto kicks on to keep RH between 90-95%. Then my plan was to use fish airline for constant FAE. Holes just on the bottom on the far side of the fogger.
Do you see any flaws with this design?

I plan to get PC fans installed to create a better FAE, but I don't know how to wire everything to make it work right at the moment.

I understand I need to keep humidity up, but FAE is more important.

If you're gone two days at a time i would recommend the sgfc which is basically automated. Or a monotub.

Either of which can be left for a couple days no problem. And when you are at home the sgfc requires far less work than even brushing your own teeth

Get some grows under your belt youll see you're dialing your setup for what you think mushrooms want not what they actually want.
Humidity is one of the lesser important things imo. Surface conditions are important but you cant train automation to detect surface conditions like eyes can do.

The flaws i see are trying to automate FAE and RH. Which can be solved passive.

That's what my cakes are in right now, but every once in a while I'm gone 4,5,6 days at a time. I need something fully automatic.

Ok, 4 days? let me reword... I need something that requires as little as possible. I can ask a friend to stop by and fan/mist, but I'm hoping I can eliminate that. I've read of people building greenhouses that are almost maintenance free... I would like to do it on a smaller scale. I'm hoping for some help with what I'm trying to do rather than "no."

I was under the impression that a sgfc cannot go a whole day without some maintenance.

Right now, all I have are cakes, and some wbs that's only 7 days colonized from a Ms syringe. Can I put cakes in monotub?

You sure can. Pack them in works better tho. The more cakes the better.

Awesome, thank you!! So I don't need to worry about side mushrooms colliding with other cakes mushrooms?
I'll build a monotub tonight  one last bit of guidance... Best Tek to follow? I've read a bunch of teks, from my understanding, the most important things are low wholes, high holes, polyfil and a sealed lid. Any skilled tidbits to contribute?

Seriously? No holes? So you monotub with just a clear bin w a light? I would love how easy that is. I'm good to try that.
