I know this thread is rather old but still, like RR wrote earlier, grow kits can be a good way to start and there might be people out there still looking for this kind of information.
You might want to build a SAB, apply plenty of alcohol, and use the kit to start rye cultures. With the rest you can fill a monotub and two weeks later the whole thing might look like this.
