BRF jar pinning before birthed
    #24863595 - 12/23/17 12:48 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I'm looking for advice on how to proceed.
I have a jar that's been consolidating for 7 days now.  I was going to wait until after Christmas to birth, dunk and roll, and put in SGFC.
I'm wondering if I'll be OK to still wait a few days, or if I need to birth right now?
Here's pic:

If you have invitro pinning, it's definitely time to birth.

On the other hand, I have no clue how you're going to get the cake out of there without breaking the jar.

Crap, I see what you mean about the jar.
I bought what the store had for wide mouth half pint jars.
I'll try to birth them today and see what happens.  Hopefully I can get them out.

I'd just case the top and invitro fruit. Imo not worth the troubloe to get them out.

Thanks for the tip.  I haven't searched yet and I will, but if you have a particular tek or post on how to case the top as you said, that'd be cool.

3 choices:

1. You only open the lid and let them fruit out of the jars. Problem is that you will have quite some pinning on the side which you won't be able to use. Read about casing to promote pinning: https://www.shroomery.org/13871/Casing

2. You cut out the cake with a knife from the top in a way that it will fit right through the hole. Chances are you break the cake and it falls apart.

3. You break up the cake and get everything out. Then you mix it with whole grains or other substrate and let it fruit out of a baking tray or such.

In this case your crumbled cake will be the spawn.

Or dont do that. Youre the 5th person in here in just a week who cant figure out to buy the correct jars, I cant understand how this isnt obvious to you OP. What did you think? Go to the store. Buy the RIGHT JARS, HERE ARE HINTS: Its in the TEK. WHY is it that every time this happens people say: Oh theres yet another tek to fix this when the person cant even get the correct tools? Its like asking a stupid plumber to rewire the entire houses water supply because he uses the wrong type wrench.
Isnt this hobby just too easy.

Take a look at this man! He had no training, he never practiced and has really no idea what he is doing ever since 1994. Look at how simple this is!

Mycological work requires he following:

1. Sterility
2. A TEK, which one follows (this includes the right tools)
3. Ample hands
4. Knowledge of the steps, much like a kungfu fighter fluently in his backbone knows how to strike, by feeling as well as practice
5. Other stuff.
