Agar confusion

Hello all, recently made four grocery tek agar dishes with poly fill lids (have used this method for awhile with no problems). I used 2-3 year old syringes kept in my food refrigerator. Despite that i saw good growth previous times (approx 6 months ago). But this morning looking at plates that are on their third transfer i noticed one plate with a green/brown blob so i set him aside, my other two rhyismorphic plates has white specks that look like the start of growth when you spore syringe a new agar plate, i had small amounts of liquid sitting atop my plates when transfered so maybe my agar wedges colonized the liquid and its growing new? Also i have just enough good looking agar growth to make a cut for new plates, should i cut new wedges?
White speck growth is to the side where my unlevel shelf ran the liquid to but agar wedge is going strong in middle. Not sure if i should scrap whole project an order new syringes or if i should cut the good parts now... Also whats the ideal location to cut a wedge from.. Closer to original wedge piece or outer rim of growth? Thanks and sorry for the qumb questions

If you are that concerned with how your agar plates are done, I would go ahead and transfer to a new plate to ease your own worries. Especially if you are aiming for an isolate.

I wouldn't order new syringes. If you have trouble with your solution running on your plates, try putting a single drop of solution on a sterile cotton swab and giving your agar just a tiny, gentle swipe.
If I have too much condensation a couple days after making my no-pour plates, I'll just carefully dump it in the bottom of my SAB.

Well the sitting liquid was i suppose condensation that slowly ran to one side after it touched wedge, looks like the start of new growth, hopefully not cobweb or some other bs.
Another question, i dont have fund to buy a proper flow hood so i use a sab. But can i run a hepa air purifier in room hours prior to working in said room or am i just kickin up dust.

It won't help.

i recommend common sense and figuring it out.
These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.
